+1. This thread is so tiring. Let it go. Bullis seems like a great school and their [b]enrollment is full so seems like a lot of satisfied families.

What makes it seem like a great school to you? The bad reputation it can't shake (why would that be?), the corruption of the Head and the Trustees, the fact that it only reached enrollment because it promised to to be in person, the scandals that made the news regarding the lacrosse and football coaches, the racist incident that also made the press, and on and on. Yes, seems like a great school.

And enrollment is obviously not full as evidenced by the giant splash page when you click on their website. There's a quick link to apply.

Try applying to high school grades and many other grades and you’ll find out very quickly how full they are.

Full of what is the question an intelligent person should be asking.

I think this time it’s quite clear that Bullis themselves created this mess. Read the title of the thread.

I find it very odd Bullis’ boosters love to turn everything back to athletics.

Anyone who knows Bullis, most were aware of the rapid spending by the previous headmaster whether it was for the STEM building or full blown athletic scholarships, it was bound to catch up to them at one point. Bullis has been a hall of smoking mirrors for the past 5 years as quickly as the school profile rose under Boarman, sadly it will fall at more rapid rate.

I was not aware of the in house counsel / school mistress. The ethical behavior displayed by the chairman of the board and other trustees speaks to all you need to know about the schools values.

Glad you love it! A lot of people can't stand it. And take to an anonymous chat room to feel better about themselves. Loser.

Keep in mind it's you that wants the school profile to fall at a rapid rate. Bizarre and you can have your reasons.

But the school profile may not fall at all. It's just in your head.

I think this forum is great for people like you. Can't argue with the price!

Haha. Got your money. You’re old news. Laughing all the way to the bank.

High school is full. My kid is in MCPS and they were not taking any HS applicants for this school year.

They don’t want you. That’s all that means.

A lot of their star football kids are leaving so there should be slots available now.

You got proof? Or are you just running your mouth because it feels good?

I hope I never see the day when 15-18 year olds own real estate in my head.

Anonymous wrote:Why did Bullis seek a 38 million dollar bond from the county in 2015? What was it used for?

https://bethesdamagazine.com/bethesda-beat/schools/bullis-school-celebrates-groundbreaking-for-27-million-expansion-project/

It's all laid out in the bond approval which is linked from the article: http://montgomerycountymd.granicus.com/MetaViewer.php?view_id=6&clip_id=10120&meta_id=87607

Did they actually collect any donations for the 27 million building? If yes, how much?

If they did not, it seems they were misleading the public and school community claiming donors covered all costs when actually the bond covered all construction costs? Why was the bond request 38 million if the building was only 27?

$27 million in donations + 38 million county bond = $65 million. The building and the new turf field was less than $30 million, yes?

So did the good doctor collect any donations or not? Hopefully a reporter pokes around this very suspicious detail.

Who was point man at the county to get that bond? Bullis alum?
