If you are a white liberal in a HRC or living in Bethesda, then I don't see how you can tell yourself you are living your values. Just because mouth breathing racists are worse than you, doesn't make you virtuous. It just makes you better than them. Great. You are less (openly) racist than a Trump supporter. But unless you are actively living your values, the only thing you are doing is voting for the right things. Necessary but not sufficient.

Nobody is virtuous. A virtuous woman (or man) is rarer than emeralds. But just because a person isn't a Saint doesn't mean they aren't doing good. If you keep being this mean to them, maybe they'll come to a realization that they never can please you and stop voting for the right things. Voting for the right things is a good thing, not to be scorned.

Ah, got it. I'll VOTE to help you, I just don't want to LIVE near you. Or have your children in the same schools as my children, at least in large numbers.

Why is this a question? A Muslim baker has no more right to deny a gay patron than a Christian one. I'll sum it up

Limousine Liberal. Loves diversity and multiculturalisim. Sends kids to majority white/asian high SES school or private school.... Hypocrite.... North Arlington, Western MoCo, DC Ward 3 fighting tooth and nail against school boundary changes or bussing.

And I know some liberals actually live what they preach and send their kids to real diverse schools with actual blacks/hispanics/ FARMS and ESOL rates but they are the vast minority

Question for those people though.... why are you sacrificing the quality of your child's education for multicultuarlisim/diversity

Also summary point when people are giving the choice they choose to live near people that look and act like them with similar views and values its human nature.

Have you ever been to a high school cafeteria from a diverse school???? Its totally segregated by race.....

We're not. Truly. The biggest indicator of future success is maternal education. The reason the majority white schools look more successful is that the kids with advantages are concentrated there. My kids, who are demographically identical to kids in richer parts of the area, are doing just fine. Better than fine. Learning a ton, getting amazing opportunities, and super happy - all while being in the minority.

This. White liberals will tell you that their school is "diverse" because there are two Black kids in a single class, but if you asked them to send their child to a school with only White kids in a class, they would turn tail in a heartbeat. There have been actual studies that show white folks claim to want diversity, but their actual threshold is something like 11%. Anything more than that feels too Black/brown even though the actual racial breakdown of the United States is not 89% white.

The article in WAPO about the Cleveland school case was interesting. Had to get very deep into the article to discover that there was not a "white" high school. There was one that was totally AA and one that was half and half. Very misleading.
