Because he asked some questions? This seems a little ridiculous.

Wannabe obgyn just saw a patient’s vagina and then uses her chart to cyberstalk her on social media as soon as she leaves. No big deal?

What’s the crime?

You ought to google Larry Nasser.

Um sticking your hand up into young girls bodies is not at all similar to asking a question that made an adult uncomfortable. Are you insane?

He asked an adult woman some awkward questions. There was no need for her to make a formal report, let alone for the university to bully him to death.

Yes because "hey we're investigating this report" is bullying the guy to death.

Look at med student forums on this, the reaction is pretty universal "oh no, he shouldn't have done that." He asked inappropriate questions and followed a patient in social media, he was in the process of being corrected for it and didn't even know what the consequences were going to be.

If she doesn’t want to be his patient again, she does have to request it. And that is her right. She doesn’t have to be uncomfortable to make him comfortable. And I have seen ZERO evidence he was bullied by ANYONE. Lots of snowplow boy moms on this thread.

Allegedly. This was a doctor in training. But the training doesn’t seem to allow room for any mistakes and demands perfection.

Perfection? What a take. You are either a member of the legal team or a family member. He created this problem and chose to react to it. The school isn't at fault and neither is the female patient.

And showing behavior red flags when you're just starting out is something the school should clamp down on. It's not acceptable behavior, he could have learned from it and improved.

Bingo. As if some hot nurse just set out to ruin their son after a routine STD examination.

How do you know what she looks like?

I mean, we don't know if she was hot, but the framing here is gonna be that she was some western whore tempting their son with her instagram pics of spring break and sorority rush.

That's really neither here nor there. The parents are suing TT for handling this all badly. from the very late night email letting him know this was an issue, at time when the crisis center was closed. The long delay for the "apology" and earnest promise to never to this again, the lack of due process, presumption of guilt, etc. Whether or not the patient was a 6 or a 10 is irrelevant.

This falls flat. It appears the campus crisis center has a 24/7 hotline he could have called (a resource he would have known about as a volunteer). It also appears the crisis center opened Tuesday at 8 a.m., hours before be purchased the firearm.

Monday, July 28: 10 p.m., in bed with girlfriend, restless and couldn’t fall asleep.
Monday, July 28: 11:36 p.m, admin email received.
Tuesday, July 29: 10:27 a.m., purchased a gun.
Tuesday, July 29, 2 p.m., crossed state lines, put on his white coat, and taken his own life.

Is there such a thing as a campus crisis center being open 24/7 fully staffed with psychologists and therapists? I highly doubt it.

He says he went and they told him to come back the next day. He killed himself. Do you think he wasn’t in some kind of distress?

The email from the therapist is sent at 6:01 p.m., which is after the clinic had closed (at 5pm?). Sounds like a therapist going above and beyond outside of work hours. Therapist also asks if he needs help in the meantime (i.e. from now until the clinic re-opens in the morning?), "please let me know so I can assist."

I'd bet anything that therapist will take the trauma from this to their grave.

Expecting 24/7 on-call therapists for any student who wants to see one is not economically possible. Public university therapists are spread sooooooo thin, it's really not a substitute for private health care provider.

So it was closed, as they said. I guess if you’re going to have a breakdown better be during regular business hours or you’re SOL.

Why do they have a duty of care to provide mental health counseling to a student being disciplined? So if I do something wrong and my boss reprimands me, I should sue if I try to harm myself? It's crazy.

Do you understand they weren’t just reprimanding him? They could have said don’t do it again and carried on but that’s not what happened.

You are undoubtedly a creep. In no circumstances should he have had a wrist slap and been told to carry on. We aren't putting up with this shite any more.

Believe all women sure didn't last last long.

You can believe her without upending his career before an investigation.

His career wasn't upended, they hadn't even had the hearing yet.

Doctors are treated with kid gloves throughout their careers, especially when facing disciplinary actions. His career was not ending and his response shows he was mentally unstable.

I’m in healthcare administration and the things doctors get away with will astound most people.

+100

Very few doctors ever receive any kind of censure unless they kill or severely injure SEVERAL people.

That's why ERs exist. If you're in active crisis you call 911.

And there’s also a national suicide hotline you can call 988.

You're totally right. He deserved it and and so did his parents because they are Indians and you don't like them. Do I have it right?

You are a racist, ,misogynistic creep.

It's also not like doctors don't regularly face questions. My Dad went through a Med Mal case that was eventually dropped, but he still had to do the depositions and having his treatment decisions questioned. That's just how the job is.

Ignore this poster. Their posts are clearly manipulative and they will defend this creepy med student to the end.

This. I have a sibling who has attempted suicide. The triggering events have been frankly normal things. She has a mental illness that makes her catastrophize small things, and that's why she takes prescribed medication. Med changes can also trigger episodes (meds can be less effective over time). It's very common for mental illness to manifest in your 20s.

This wasn’t a small thing.
