| 2022 DCE Black will be one of best in country just like 2021. DCE is quickly becoming THE team to play for in DMV. |
EXPRESS. DC Express. Associated with LI Express. Among the lax cognoscenti, a brand name for sure. |
The 2021 team is excellent. But these boys are now entering high school. The name of the game now is exposure. College coaches at the tourneys don't care who wins the games. They are there to scout talent. They will always take a look at Madlax or VLC or Crabs or Blackwolf because they know what they are getting - kids from the DMV who have been weaned on lax with great IQ and stick skills. DCE is an unkown quality. The likely weak teams of DCE other than 2021 will also take away from a coaches desire and willingness to carve out time to watch. I wish DCE well. They are run by nice, rational guys (as opposed to you know who). But I think parents on 2021 are taking a risk, if the goal is to get recruited. |
Sounds like most of the clubs my DS and DD have been involved with unfortunately. |
Are they paying you for your continued PR for the team? What sells any club is consistent winning teams and that has not been this club. |
|
Not the pp, but DCE has only been in the DMV for a year so there is no history, especially not negative history. As previous posted already laid out, DC Express is part of LI Express which is a well known and respected lax club. They are very involved in recruiting, are successful, and very well respected. The success of the 2021 team will only help to bring even better players to the up and coming grades, which in turn will bring more wins, and more recruits. Give it time, they will be dominating more than just 2021.
And to the pps who suggests orange teams are just financial padding is not speaking of BLC, which is a non-profit lax club. They also turn away tons of kids who do not make the cut. The blue team are the top players and orange team are either kids on the bubble or kids who are just below. I know lots of orange team players who could seamlessly fill blue spots, but there are enough players on blue already in those positions. Lots of kids who tryouts for BLC do not get an invite if they don't make the cut or if there are enough better kids for their position. They just don't accept everyone and make room for them by expanding their teams for cash flow reasons. I know several kids who did not make BLC teams and were accepted at Madlax and Next Level B teams. Those clubs are for profit. Just saying. |
You can't think charging $3,000 a season is not for profit or are you drinking the club Kool-Aid? Good pitch... |
| Lets get back to girls lacrosse. Roster aren't up for DC teams yet (MC Elite, Pride, Stars, Capital). Stars and Capital have their "placement tryouts" this weekend to determine who is on what team so that explains those two. What about the others? When will rosters go up? My DD is curious where some of her friends ended up (wants to congratulate those who made their top choice) but doesn't want to ask and inadvertently cause hurt feelings. |
| BLC is not $3,000. |
DC Express is associated with Performance which has been around for more than one year. Same coaches. |
BLC teams are typically filled with coaches kids and their preferred players. Tryouts seem to be for show as the teams seem predetermined before they even begin. |
|
MC Elite was announced. We got an email with a link to all teams a few days ago. My daughter had originally planned to try out so we were still on their distribution email even though she ended up trying out for another team. I assume the list is public though. |
| $3000 as if, try $4200 up front for DCE. |
Has DCE gone up to $4200? It was $3000 last year. |
