It is a complicated website. If you keep clicking on various tabs, you finally get to the rosters. Partial rosters have been posted for every year. VLC 2020 has already had 2 tryouts. A 3rd is scheduled for this weekend. But they have already made decisions on at least a few players in 2020, at least that is what I take from the published rosters. My DH said he got an email saying that there are still openings in 2020, and final decisions will be made after the 3rd tryout. Glad that these appear to be real tryouts, as opposed to some other clubs where the rosters seem to be set before tryouts actually begin. |

Yes, some early decisions have already been made - mostly kids from the team this past season. The team will have some new faces this coming season I'm sure. Some good talent on display at tryouts ... don't envy the position of the evaluators. Hoping all the kids find a good landing spot somewhere. |

I think VLC has the healthiest approach to club ball. But don't mistake that for warmth or sentimentality. They want winning teams. Each year tryouts are real rather than theater. I know of several boys who made the team one year, and are cut off the next. It hurts even more because there is no B team. VLC is honest in their tryouts - no daddy ball. But this sometimes has tough consequences and lots of hurt feelings. Just looking at the 2021 roster which is the most complete so far, and comparing it with the roster from last year, lots of new names, and lots of missing names. I'm not complaining. But it is scary if you are a player. |

Yes, they do. But they don't surf the Internet for them. The rosters are given to them by clubs and/or at events that supply them. |

Sometimes players want to know where their former teammates or current school classmates ended up (without having to ask "did you make ___ 2021" team?)

you have mommy and daddy gossiping now who made the local club team. signed from a mother whose son played at a D1 school and hung up his cleats after his sophomore season. |
