Would you allow your 16 year old daughter to wear one of those almost thong swimsuits?

You are so dim. It doesn’t matter what kind of perfect world you wish to live in where some stranger or some friend of your daughter isn’t fantasizing about your daughter’s a** when she’s letting the whole thing hang out. The fact is we live in a world where people judge and people leer and people think sexual things. I cannot fathom why your little feminist stance is more important to you than protecting your daughter and teaching her that some things are just not age appropriate. You are not as smart as you think you are, and you’re also not a good parent. You are trying to create a dream world for your daughter and not accepting reality.

And I get what some of you are saying about bikinis in general but as much as you want to argue, they are not all created equal. When I was a teenager if I wanted to wear a bikini, it had to be a sportier type with full coverage and a top that was not two tiny triangles. I respect my parents for having these rules and teaching me what is age appropriate. I have no hang ups about my body because of their rules. You are kidding yourself, also, if you think the reason your daughter wants a bikini is because it’s easier to go to the bathroom. Give me a break! I have a bridge to sell you!

You sound like a complete mess. I feel sorry for your daughters and your sons.

Nobody should be sexualizing a child. Do you go to HS volleyball tournaments for sexual gratification. Geez!

You have serious issues. Yes most normal people do not sexualize children. It’s sad you teach your sons it’s completely normal to go around sexualizing complete strangers and teach them to blame girls based on what they wear.

OP said her niece's bathing suit bottom was more like this:https://pakalohamaui.com/shop/hamoa-bottom/

and no, I would not let my daughter wear that. I certainly wouldn't buy it for her. I would also be pretty bummed if she wanted to wear that. So skanky! And I agree with a PP - the only reason you want to wear that bottom is because you want people to look at your butt and think you are sexy. (hey - which you are, if you look like that in that bikini bottom )

It’s a lot easier for you to believe that than to admit you just posed that it’s the fault of a minor child when somebody has pedophile thoughts.

This is exactly why your posts aren’t credible at all. No one is faulting the minor for anything, but why would you pretend that other people don’t judge and don’t have sexual thoughts? (And no, it doesn’t have to be “pedophile” thoughts, drama queen.) When a teenager has a better understanding of how people around her perceive her, and how she actually looks to the world, and what vibe she puts out, then she can choose a bathing suit of her liking. At 16, it is not reasonable. But hey, keep living in your feminist bubble while your daughter walks around with her a** hanging out, oblivious to society.

I don't think you know what a pedophile is. A pedophile is an individual (16 years or older) whose sole or primary romantic or sexual attraction is to pre-pubescent children. If someone finds a post puberty body arousing or sexual, then by definition they are not a pedophile. Also to be a pedophile you have to be at least 5 years older than the pre-pubescent child so a teen boy thinking a teen girls in a bathing suit is hot is not a pedophile.

Also, it’s not necessarily older “pedophiles” looking at her. Her peers are looking at her too. Guys (or girls, whatever) that are going to want to date her. Do you want the reason anyone is interested in her to be because she shows her naked rear end to the world? Because as much as you try to pretend that boys her age don’t notice or think about it, it’s nature...they do. It doesn’t mean they’re going to rape her. But they’ll be thinking about her naked a**.

It’s sad you’re teaching your daughters to advertise to the world that they are for a man’s viewing pleasure and it’s so cheap that they will even Show off everything they have at the swimming pool!

Honestly I don’t know how you can help someone understand that it’s not a good idea for teenage girls to wear bathing suits like this. Young girls are already specialized enough. Now they have to wear a suit like this to the pool? Do they also wear those stripper Halloween costumes at age 16?

This. It’s sending the message to the world that she’s ALL about her sexuality. It takes attention from other positive qualities of a young girl and makes the focus on her naked body.

I absolutely know. I have been involved in prosecuting sexually molestation cases for 20 years. I know way more about the subject Than ever cared to.

Unless OP and everybody posting about 49 yo men ogling girls are teen boys your argument is ridiculous. You keep backing away since your post are so ridiculous.

You post is that men can’t control themselves and women control their thoughts and reactions. That is insane.

Men are 100% capable of controlling their thoughts and reactions and actions.

It is not biology. You were socialized to think the way you think and it’s pathetic.

No it doesn’t. Not if she is just wearing because she likes it.

The same was said about tight jeans in the 80’s or mini skirts in the 70’s.

16 yo don’t send messages ... you were just socialized to blame women for what they wear.

A few things:

1. How would we feel if these young girls just went nude? Seriously. If teenage girls can’t be sex objects and what they wear doesn’t matter then why are they even wearing clothes, especially at the pool?

2. The girls who are allowed to wear these kinds of suits never make it far in life. They are the “fast” girls and we know how most of those turned out.

3. Allowing your daughter to wear a suit like this is teaching to disrespect herself. It’s saying “your body doesn’t have any value and you can show it to anyone.” She will of course get positive feedback from wearing such a suit and she will like it. Just like she will receive positive feedback when she gives a BJ at a fraternity band party in college. It’s just a BJ...who cares? It’s just her ass hanging out of her suit...who cares?

4. Men are visual creatures. Ignoring this is ignoring reality.

Then why are women wearing any clothes? Why even wear a swimsuit?

I absolutely do blame girls for dressing like they are cheap hookers. Or I blame the parents. Any woman who has so little to offer that she has to wag her boobs and ass at everyone is pathetic.

I provided you with an understanding of pedophilia since you obviously didn't know it given your misuse of it. I didn't write any of the other preceding posts so the rest is not applicable.
