One of them is lying to me - the cleaners or the neighbor

OP, I guess you are getting hammered so hard because you seem to refuse to consider that you did anything wrong, or at the very least consider the possibility that the drug addict might have lied. You keep doubling down on it must have been the cleaners.

I do consider that the neighbor lied hence the name of this thread.

But that seemed like a throw away to get attention.

You keep insisting that YOU know better what I’m thinking.

I suggest you reflect on projections a bit.

Wow, a five year relationship ends because you believe a (former) drug user over your trusted cleaners who you said did a good job for you. I'm glad they quit. You sound horrible and you can't even see, or admit how you very much accused them in your questioning.

For the N-ths time, It ended because they’re now afraid the neighbors will call the cops.

This was a surprising turn of events.

There is nothing I can do here. I have other cleaners though so I’m good.

Maybe I should install a camera over my garage to be on the safe side.

Yes, do this, because people you hire/rent to/know seem to like smoking weed.

Here is the thing I keep coming back to. These people have been cleaning her house for FIVE years. In all that time, she has never noticed them smelling like weed, nor has her house smelled like weed. All of a sudden she’s concerned her house will smell like weed, when it has literally never happened? OP clearly has no damn sense.

As for people saying that they must be doing something wrong if they’re afraid of cops, I’m going to assume that y’all aren’t brown or black. If you don’t think that POC have more to fear from cops than Caucasian people, you really were either born yesterday, or too stupid for words.

I'm amazed that you were able to keep them 5 years. Wow.

You don’t know their full reasoning for not coming back. That said, not coming back because they don’t trust your neighbor not to call the police on them doesn’t mean they are guilty of something. Many minorities have very valid reasons to fear the police even if they have done nothing wrong.

I think it’s a given at this point that OP has no sense.

This was surprising to you? Y’all, we need to lay off. She is mentally deficient and we shouldn’t make fun.

You seem stupid. They have been cleaning your house for five years and you have never suspected any of them of smoking anything in or near your house which is probably because they weren't. So now you've lost your good workers but you still have your lyingassliar neighbors with the druggie kid. Happy?

OP here. I didn't believe they would be hotboxing before cleaning, although I don't rule anything out 100%. So the scenario where a young Mexican girl was smoking weed in her car with her friends is completely out of the question? Really?

OP, if your cleaner allegedly smoked in her car with the windows shit (hotboxing), then why are you worried about it “getting into your walls?”

I think my cleaner farted at my house last week. Should I confront her?

This.

Also, am I the only person who wouldn't care if my cleaners smoked in their car?

Agree, and I also agree that I don't care if my cleaning lady is high as long as she still does the job well. I agree with OP's cleaning lady that it is racist because the neighbor is using Mexicans as a scapegoat when it was probably the daughter who smoked and got caught and blamed it on the cleaning ladies. I also don't see why OP had to point out that her neighbor is Middle class, as if them being lower class would make them less believable.

NP. Completely unrelated to this specific incident of OP's -- who are you people on this thread saying you don't care if service providers come to your house high, or after smoking (or anything else) in their cars on the way to you? They are accidents waiting to happen as they drive to your home. Why do you believe it's fine for anyone to be smoking weed while, or just before, driving? It's driving under the influence. You don't care if someone is out there driving high? Again, not saying these cleaners were smoking etc. Don't know and there's no way to know now anyway. My issue is with PPs not caring if someone's driving to work for you while high. JFC, show some thought for other people on the road.

Have you ever smelled someone who's been hotboxing? Their clothes and hair reek beyond all imagination. Yes, anything they're around will reek too if they're there long enough.

.

I don’t know what they do in their spare time. We don’t hold hands and sing kumbaya. They come, work, and leave. We don’t talk much.

The same with my coworkers. I may know them for years, but I don’t know what they do in their spare time. The one coworker who told me he smokes weed on regular basis, never smells like it at work. So no, I bet you would not be able to tell looking at a group of people who uses drugs, who has alcohol addiction, etc. Don’t kid yourself. I would not know about the neighbors either if they didn’t tell me.

You do need to lay back on to your antipsychotic medication.
