OP, your original post says "I'm just puzzled by this bizarre incident and I don't know whom to believe." You seem absolutely convinced about who you believe now. Why is that? |
Is this OP sock puppeting? The neighbors did not "randomly decide" to make up a story. And the cleaners story makes a lot more sense than the neighbor girl's story. The neighbor girl is a recovering drug addict who go out of rehab, couldn't hack it and fell off the bandwagon. She went outside to smoke pot and then had it on her clothes. She goes inside and her mother asks her what the smell is and she panics and blames the housecleaners for smoking in their car. The mother wants to believe and doubles down and tells OP. On the other hand, you have housecleaners who have been working at this job for FIVE YEARS. They have never been a problem. OP has never had an issue with them. They don't do illegal substances. They can't possiblyi smoke because the daughter has asthma. That's an odd excuse to make up if they are trying to hide MJ use. MJ smells get into any porous materials including drywall, cloth, cardboard. If they had smoked and "hotboxed" in the OP's garage, then the smell would have lingered in the garage. The smell would have gotten into her house as they cleaned. Anyone whose every lived near a park or playground or parking lot where there is MJ smoked knows what old dead MJ smoke smells like. It's stale and foul. And it lingers. But, OP has reiterated several times that neither her house, nor the garage smell. There is no residue. OP also arrived 30 minutes after they got there. There is no way that the smell in the cleaners' car and their clothes could have dissipated in that amount of time. Additionally, they were on their way to work at 7:30 in the morning, to presumably do several hours of house cleaning at OP's house. Not a typical situation for someone who is "afraid of the police" to smoke up. If they were MJ users, they would know that the smoke would get in their clothes. They would know that it would get into OP's house. That she might call the police. If they were that afraid of the police, they would most definitely NOT be smoking minutes before going into OPs house to work. There is no logic that makes the neighbor girl's random accusation make sense. But there is plenty of reason for a druggie to have come out of rehab, relapsed and gotten some MJ. To have snuck out of the house to smoke in the morning before her mother could catch her (possibly before her mother was up). To get it in her clothes and to be confronted by her mother and lied about it to hide it. The girl is a lazy UMC kid that did drugs, rehab and is recently out of rehab, taking on-line courses and lazing about on her parents' dime. It is clear to 98% of the respondents that the UMC has fallen off the wagon and is lying to cover her tail. I think there are two of you who seem to agree with OP and have this absolute denial of the logic that shows it. You and OP are the only ones that seem to believe a druggie |
| Omg how are people still falling for this troll? She’s really eating it up. |
No it's not. As much as your cockamamie, absurd story would make an excellent Agatha Christie, it's almost certainly not the right one. Why on earth would an admitted recovering drug addict even want to make up a story about ANYONE smoking weed? Almost certainly it's the last thing she'd want to bring up, mention, or even be around. If she really was a drug addict, it was almost certainly to something much stronger than weed (does anyone even go to rehab for weed?). And the heavy drug users often have zero interest in some milquetoast Mary Jane after they've been doing the harder stuff. Almost certainly, the simplest answer is the correct one. Neighbor's daughter smelt it, reported it to mom. Mom told OP, cleaners panicked because they might have iffy immigration status, or just because they were caught doing something bad/illegal, and almost anyone would panic when confronted with taking illegal substances at their workplace. Occam's Razor, people. Stop trying to come up with elaborate Wattpad stories to make this more complicated. |

She would make it up when she came in the house smelling like weed or self conscious about potentially smelling like weed, getting confronted by a parent when drug use will have severe consequences. And pot is like alcohol…it’s not the hard stuff but it’s complementary. They do it all together. She certainly didn’t go to rehab for weed but smoking yup and getting high is exactly the kind of slip up that someone only halfheartedly committed to recovery would rationalize away. Your racism is showing that the very very obvious addict being addict behavior unbelievable to you but longtime employee is terrified of ice because they’re illegals makes perfect sense |
NP here… honestly no true addict who has been struggling would smell pot at 7:30a and then go into her moms house and tell her. She would smell it, maybe get triggered, keep it to herself and get through the day and whatever thoughts/feelings it brings up for her. It’s just not worth it in active recovery and there’s no payoff in telling in this scenario. The only reason an addict would tell would be if they are still struggling with addiction and this is a cover up. If absolutely makes sense that neighbor would go out to smoke at 7am, especially if she is addicted to weed. She probably can’t function without it. Also, who on earth hotboxes the car with their mom!? This is the most far fetched lie. OP, I don’t know if you are a racist or not but you come off as totally biased against your cleaners. |
First “Mexican cleaner” - tell me you aren’t from the area without telling me you aren’t from the area Second, I think I am the only one stuck on the fact that you pay for cleaning service and one of the cleaners doesn’t clean very well and you haven’t ever spoke up about it? But you speak up when your neighbor randomly walks over and out of the blue tell you a crazy story about the potential of pot smoke?!? Maybe you are the one who has been smoking something 😂 |
Do you have cleaners? If you did you would know that you can’t make them. If it was only the daughter cleaning I would let her go a long time ago, but her mom does a great job so overall their cleaning is decent. Not the best, but not bad, good enough. If I was the neighbor daughter and relapsing I would never draw attention to myself like that. I mean, the cleaners were here once every two weeks. It’s hard to pin MJ smell on them. Plus bringing up drugs is a red flag by itself. |
