I'd guess they could figure out any people pretending to be multiple people. They'll see that numbers are on our side. Other then that, what?!? Embarrassing people who post in other forums? Sounds like a recipe for disaster for them. So smart, and so dumb. |
Sounds like Maret could use his help. |
Probably very expensive too. But after they spent so much money on that hearing, I wouldn't put it past them. |
So he can research who they might hire? I guess he could also reach out to local papers/websites and let them know what Maret is doing. |
Agreed. Whoever they're paying now is not earning their money. |
let's see,
Hardy has soccer games, boys and girls, on Tuesday/Thursday so they those are not practice days for them. They use Deal as their home field for games currently. On Wednesdays they get Jelleff field right after school. So that leaves us with Monday and Friday to work out sharing of field -- how about Maret gets it Monday and Hardy gets it Friday. As for Hardy football, Jelleff isn't a football field and it isn't as tho Hardy is a football powerhouse so they could use Hardy field or Ellington. With a closer look at the Maret varsity soccer schedule for boys/girls, perhaps those days goto boys/girls club for outdoor after school time. And I have to say, post 5:45 at Jelleff it is Stoddert who has the field. Perhaps they could also give up time for the boys and girls club for an hour of outdoor time. It just doesn't seem that hard to work out the issues but it seems from this thread that the only thing that will satisfy the anti-Maret crowd is no time for Maret. Alternatively, the field is free in the mornings and since dcps doesn't start til 8:45, once or twice a week a team could practice before school, particularly if proper showers are put into the new Jelleff building. I believe some Wilson teams practice before school. |

Can Jeff stop something like this? Seems like a violation of privacy to me. |
Stop blaming black folks. I agree that the agreement should be rescinded. I don’t think there is one black kid on the baseball team. I think there was one last year. AA elites are not spending political clout for Maret baseball, I can assure you of that. Blame this on plain rich folks and leave AAs out of this. Muriel accosts money no matter the skin color. |

What I learned from yesterday's hearing: Hardy spends $800 every time it must use busses to transport sports teams to practices and games around the city. And this $800 comes out of Hardy's budget. What I also learned yesterday from DPR's chief: the agency has not conducted a cost-benefit analysis of the deal with Maret. It doesn't even know what a fair market price for exclusive use of Jelleff in the prime after school hours. DPR needs to conduct a cost-benefit analysis that incorporates Hardy's spending on busses. This is a huge expense, tho I imagine some sort of donor to Bowser is making good money on all the Hardy kids who need to be shipped around the city. |
Why does Maret even get a piece of the pie? They got the ten years they bargained for, the ten years are up. This is a public asset. They're a private school, the parents deliberately chose out of the public system. |
Someplace in Bethesda is all I heard. Can't even keep this money in DC. My source is very wary of saying too much. Apparently not every parent/alum is on board with this land grab... |
I went poking around on old DC OCFO stuff and - do I read it right that DC was proposing a budget of about $58 million for DPR capital improvements in FY11? https://cfo.dc.gov/sites/default/files/dc/sites/ocfo/publication/attachments/ocfo_fy2011_fy2016_capital_improvements_plan.pdf
This sounds like a situation where $1 million would be nice, but is nothing DC needed in order to choose between maintaining/repairing and selling off rights to a particular DPR site. In context, a deal like this sounds less about the money and more about the self-serving connections among DC's elite and the lack of mass engagement in DC politics. |
No f-ing way. Only if they got logs from the server could they tie IP addresses. Only way to get that is if Jeff gave them the logs. And all you get with IP addresses is mostly Comcast/Verizon/RCN IPs, and the only way to tie those to individuals is with a subpoena. I guess you could look at wording style to possibly connect different posts to see if there are a few posters who post multiple times. But what does that get you? Also, most of it would be real guesswork because most posts are so short and don't show a discernible style. |
