And since it’s where they play all their home games for baseball and soccer (right?) that adds up to a lot of additional time beyond “two hours“ each school day. And for me, someone who has a hearty student in another child who will be going to Hardy in a couple years, it’s not about access high school teams. I want to see those aftercare kids and Jelleff being able to run around on a gorgeous day after sitting in classrooms all day long And for me, someone who has a Hardy student Athlete and another child who will be going to Hardy in a couple years, it’s not about access by school teams. Maret wants to dismiss that visual because it’s so ugly but it is accurate

Oh, please. No one believes this. Hardy parents have a very compelling argument to make here, but you put yourself on a level with the "white savior" Maret parents when you spout this nonsense.

Wow. You're so incredibly cynical. If you hung out at Jelleff after school during the hours that Maret controls the field you'd understand. And the white savior complex was clearly on display yesterday by Maret witnesses. They were gross.

King of like when affluent middle school parents work to overturn a this contract - but it's not for *their* benefit! Of course not (even though that's how this entire movement started). It's for the Boys and Girks Club! Hardy won't use Jelleff for after school sports!

Please. Don't be naive.

Holy crap - do you know how committed, mission oriented and hard working BGCGW people are? Have you gone to any of the DC based rec center that are gathering places for kids to have a safe place to go after school and are teeming with volunteers because they understand that there are thousands of kids out there being influenced to make bad choices all day long? There are a lot of people out there focused and working on access & equity issues that don't have a white savior complex. You're gross and offensive because you believe that no one believes that kids shouldn't be stuck in a building after a day in school.

I never said that, and I don't believe that. What I did say is that *Hardy* parents having fits over the Jellef deal want access for Hardy, and then claiming that they are only thinking about the BGCGW kids is complete horse crap.

Uh. My Hardy athlete is also a Jelleff aftercare kid, so it matters to me that my kid not be trapped in a basement when it’s sunny and beautiful outside. And that is more important to me than where his games and practices are held. Sport seasons are relatively short, aftercare is all school year.

Those Market parents won't quit.
I heard that they were paying for a data firm to analyze this thread to identify the authors of these posts!
Have they no shame?!?!

That's going to backfire so hard.

Don't they know who Miller's husband is?!?

Seriously? Offer some insight, please. So Maret is partnering up with the Russians now? I really hope for Maret’s sake there is no truth to this claim about hiring data analysts.

This is generally not a particularly hard thing to try and assess, and I"m sure someone at Maret has access to people/firms that can do this, but whether it will be successful will depend in part on how Jeff has the site configured.

My husband does stuff like this. He said that it doesn't matter how the site is configured. as long as you can see it, they can figure out all of a particular person's posts across the entire forum.

Sound's like intimidation. I can't believe they'd sink so low!

It is astounding to me that Maret is allowing this to go on. Parading out dozens of witnesses yesterday with the same argument focused on themselves and their reputation rather than the issue at hand did not help their cause. Some of the Maret parents are the brightest, most strategic political minds and they are fumbling this so badly. Why? It’s bizarre.

I don't have any dog in this fight. It's just a fascinating social experiment, with boundless hypocrisy on all sides.

Subject to some assumptions (e.g., that posters don't vary their syntax etc. across posts), it'd certainly be feasible for any textual analyst worth their salt to come up with a rough estimate of how many distinct individuals have posted on this thread. Doing anything more than that would be very very difficult.

Give Hardy / BG&C the field two afternoons a week and not only does the issue go away, but they ride out on a white horse. For some reason, they prefer this. I don't get it either.

I learned from yesterday’s hearings that the big gift to Hardy of an hour or two late afternoon on Wednesdays started *a year ago*! Not until contract renewal was in sight did it occur to them that they could share the time they don’t actually use the field! Apparently the think ceding a bit of unused time on Wednesdays is generous enough.

I mean, I get that he can help build a campaign, but how could he help with this?

I don't understand this though.
If BGC gets the space, where would Hardy go?

Uh. Walk over to the Ellington field?
