This is generally not a particularly hard thing to try and assess, and I"m sure someone at Maret has access to people/firms that can do this, but whether it will be successful will depend in part on how Jeff has the site configured.[/quote]

My husband does stuff like this. He said that it doesn't matter how the site is configured. as long as you can see it, they can figure out all of a particular person's posts across the entire forum.

Subject to some assumptions (e.g., that posters don't vary their syntax etc. across posts), it'd certainly be feasible for any textual analyst worth their salt to come up with a rough estimate of how many distinct individuals have posted on this thread. Can Jeff stop something like this? Seems like a violation of privacy to me.

I'd guess they could figure out any people pretending to be multiple people. 
They'll see that numbers are on our side.
