If you know you're retiring, why wait? Now the county has more time to fill the position.

No, the county has less time. The Principal announced she would be leaving in March.

She announced in February. Her retirement is effective March 31. Acting principal starting April 1. New principal will be effective July 1.

Kingsview parent here. Do you know who?

Yes, it’s Anita O’Neill, currently AP at Blake HS. The Blake principal sent an email about it.

Kennedy parent here, who do you think the choice is? I hope the search is genuine and not performative.

Has to be James Allrich at Argyle. Kids feed into that school, he’s familiar with the high school level, and he’s won award after award. Usually, they try to get. a cluster MS principal to move into that position.

Ah yes, I saw his name thrown out. I guess we'll have to see! Didn't know of the preference for cluster MS principals, though that totally makes sense.

Yet another honor for Allrich: https://www.districtadministration.com/3-principals-to-watch-clear-the-way-for-problem-solvers/

I imagine he will move up to high school or central office next year. He seems to love kids, so I’d be a little surprised if he leaves the schools. Maybe he’d do a several year turn as a consulting principal.

Some people mentioned him possibly taking the Kennedy job. I personally think he’ll be a director. No way he’s staying at Argyle, though.

The planned acting principal just did a principal internship last year. I imagine he's the front runner.

Forest Oak parent here. Very tired of all the turnover, though our population is very needy. Anyone know who would want the principalship?

SSIMS is in desperate need of a new principal!

The current principal is not effective. Fighting is out of control, very little discipline. Staff and parents are not happy.

That's not a SSIMS thing, that's an MCPS thing.
