Also from Zillow:
The typical home value of homes in Oxford is $350,830. This value is seasonally adjusted and only includes the middle price tier of homes. Oxford home values have gone up 16.3% over the past year.

And the population:
The average household income in Oxford is $80,894 with a poverty rate of 7.14%.

They are not an aw-shucks backwater? Who said that? But they are not a wealthy area overall. Wealthier homeowners have been building there with the idea of getting a large house with more land, but the original population is still there.

PP above said it's "closer" to the poorest towns in the county, implying it is a low-resource podunk school district. While the administrative team may be backwater rubes, it is not a poor place. In addition to relatively pricey local real estate, the high school is very modern and on the high-resource side.

Cops (including SROs) do not prevent crime. Statistically, factually, realistically. The SROs job is to break up fights and ruin kids lives for possessing weed. Of course no one looped him in.

Oh yeah, a skull cracking deputy eager to ruin teenager's lives. As for week, all the kids addicted to dope in high school turned into engineers and surgeons, huh. I know, I know, this one kid you knew was a total stoner and ended up at Yale.

+1

Well, the gun that the dad bought for his son for a "Christmas present" (4 days before the shooting, no less) sells for $500.

That's a pretty expensive Christmas gift for a 15 year old from a backwater, podunk town.

So, I agree with you.

I don't even understand what you're trying to say here.

Has it been mentioned that they appear to be able to afford a private practice attorney for themselves, while their son has to have a public defender?

The fact that the state arm of the American Legislative Exchange Council--and home of the MI GQP--is your go-to reference site tells me all I need to know.

Michigan is very much so a place of exurb sprawl. There are tons of new builds in undeveloped areas in Michigan. When I grew up in a Detroit suburb, Canton was considered the boonies, now it is a suburb. Oxford is the same way, this family is from the original Oxford clan.

I would be good money some right wing extremist person or group is bankrolling their defense, just like Rittenhouse. The shooter isn't a sympathetic cause but for gun nuts the parents absolutely are.

The attorney is taking the case to make a name for herself. There is big money from special interest groups when you represent people like this. The people are poor, why is that so hard to believe. Is it because they are White?

Yes. Parents are being bankrolled, kid’s case is unwinnable.

The attorneys are not pro bono, they already stated this.

Probably GOP, Trump and Faux News types are funding them. This kind of violence may win Trump the 2nd presidency.
