High end appliances. Not worth it. We got Thermador fridge / freezer. So disappointing.
A designer warned me that there's no correlation with expensive appliances and quality and I now agree. |
| I put gray tile on the floor of my kitchen, and combined with our white cabinets and gray/ white granite, our kitchen looks so sterile. I love white kitchens but they need warm wood floors. I let my contractor convince me that wood would be too difficult. And this is IMPOSSIBLE to fix without tearing out the entire kitchen, so, it will never happen. I put down rugs all over it but it still doesn't really fix the problem to me. 5 years later and I'm still not over it. We're going to sell the house in the next 2 years or I'd seriously consider re doing it. |
You understand that all water is sitting in a pipe somewhere right? |
| I regret NOT doing heated floors in the bathroom. |
I have not regretted our super-fancy seat-heated Japanese toilet for one day. Do it now; it's life changing
|
On the flip side, my contractor convinced me that tile was a bad idea for our powder room vs just continuing the wood floors into them and let's just say there's a reason tile is better in bathrooms, especially with boys. |
Love mine and use it often as do eveyone else in my house who cooks. |
Not impossible. Rent on of those driveway cubes throw your stuff in there and refinish. You may have to stay at a hotel for couple days |
Agree. Put in Wolf Stove and Smart Oven and don't really like it, especially the Wolf stove, it's horrible |
Why? we're debating this now |
Agreed. I have a small open plan 1st floor and didn't want it to look broken up. However, hardwood is dumb for heavily used kitchens and powder rooms. We have slight gaps between our planks that don't look bad but will never come clean. |
It really does seem like such a huge waste of money. Plumbing is not cheap. |
We had a pot filler when we moved in. In 5 years, I never turned it on once, and I cook daily. We have a filtered prep sink tap, so I always filled pots up there. And sometimes I would let a pot fill while I multitasked, so I would never choose to leave a tap above the range on and unattended, as opposed to the sink tap. When I had the kitchen renovated, we got rid of the pot filler, and our contractor said that he wouldn’t have advised us keeping it because it can leak, and it was on an exterior wall, which is also a worry as we live in a cold climate. |
Um, the post was asking people to write about what they regret. You're telling PP that she's wrong and she doesn't actually regret this? Is there something wrong with you? You always post like this and I don't think you realize how ignorant and stupid it makes you sound. |
I think most people rarely make pasta/stews/soups, so would not need it. |
