How to say no to family members who want to stay at our house when we're not here -- white lie?

| I see the thread is old but it's a good one. This is part of the reason we no longer have a vacation home. Dealing with relatives was becoming a bigger pain every year, especially as nieces and nephews became young adults and started wanting to use the cabin with their friends. |

Lol. The family forum posts would drop by 80% if people would just say no to relatives. Instead they stress, worry, feel anxiety, misery, create new drama, rehash old drama and concoct a web of excuses or lies (white, black, brown, a lie is a lie) just to avoid confrontation or upsetting other people. |

Do Not Lie!! Tell them the truth!!! If they don't like it, oh well!! They are adults, ENTITLED JERKS,(THOSE MAKING SMART REMARKS SOUND LIKE YOU ARE THE TYPE TO GO UNWELCOMED, NOT CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELVES..IT IS NOT THE HOSTS JOB TO BABYSIT YOU!!! And OP stop letting people ALL PEOPLE DICTATE YOU LIFE YOUR HOUSE TO YOU!! AND YES DEPENDING ON WHAT YOUR ANXIETY LEVEL IS...NO ONE CAN TELL YOU..ITS UP TO YOU!! I am physically unable to to do a lot and for me to have to clean up after people who are capable of cleaning up after themselves but choose not to..YOU WOULD NEVER COME BACK..MY STRESS LEVEL WOULD BE A MILE HIGH AND I WOULD BE BLOWING A HEAD GASKET!!
