Comcast was so bad we dropped cable because of it.
Verizon—we would drop if they didn’t have a local monopoly on internet (how is this legal?!) CVS pharmacy. The absolute worst. Every store, every prescription. |
| Bray and Scarff. Our washer dryer was broken. The repair person missed two appt slots that I had taken time off work to attend to (without an apology) and then ordered the wrong part to repair the washer dryer which meant that after 2 weeks nothing was resolved. The incompetent repair guy told me he would order another part but by then I was done with Bray and Scarff. But the rotten company charged me 200$ for a service call where the repair guy just came and realized he has ordered the wrong part and refused to refund me the $. I reported them to the BBB. (And if you’ve had 2 weeks with an infant and no laundry facilities you know it’s not fun.) |
I can not stand Comcast. Honestly the worst company and customer service. Im surprised that it’s not mentioned more often on here. |
| The Blairs in silver spring. Absolutely the worst company I have ever dealt with and there have been some doozies. |
New poster here. There are several websites that can walk you through it. We bought a TV antenna four years ago and were amazed at how many channels we get. And they are free, forever. You have to figure out where the transmitters are in your area, then point the antenna toward the transmitters. If you are in the DC area, the transmitters are around Bethesda. So you buy an antenna, stick it in a window pointing toward Bethesda, hook it up to your TV, scan for channels, and there you go. Here is a link for a website that shows you where the transmitters are for your area: https://www.fcc.gov/media/engineering/dtvmaps You can go to TitanTV.com to see a TV guide of what you would get with your antenna. If you live in the DC area, or any big city, a mohu leaf antenna would be adequate for you. It looks like a placemat. Hang it in the window facing the transmitters. If you live in a more rural area, then I recommend the antennas direct antenna that looks like it has two numbers 8's hanging on it. https://www.amazon.com/Mohu-MH-110029-Amplified-Satellite-Antenna/dp/B07F15J9Y7/ref=asc_df_B07F15J9Y7/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=459618435588&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=7201986669082350320&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9024124&hvtargid=pla-975296536716&psc=1 https://www.amazon.com/Antennas-Direct-ClearStream-Multi-directional-Adjustable/dp/B074DYDSNK/ref=sr_1_8?crid=1OF5RQB6DZ1VI&keywords=antennas+direct&qid=1657440809&s=electronics&sprefix=antennas%2Celectronics%2C117&sr=1-8 I live in a more rural area than DC and I have the one that looks like it has two number 8's on it. I have it in a window, hanging from a tension curtain rod. I get 50 channels. You won't get any VHF channels with an antenna that hangs in a window, but 90 percent of TV channels broadcast on UHF. In order to get the few VHF channels via antenna you need one of those huge antennas that are mounted to your roof like people had in the 1960's. The mohu leaf or the antennas direct antenna will get all the UHF channels. |
| Most chain furniture stores that sell furniture outsource local warehousing and deliveries to third party logistics companies. Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, Crate & Barrel, West Elm etc. Mistakes happen. |
What I don't understand about supply chain problems is how it only impacts certain furniture companies. For example, over the past 2.5 years, Macy's furniture has been in stock and shipped within days (or available to) of placing an order. |

BUILDERS!
Working with supposedly the second most prolific builder in Bethesda - totally awful customer service experience. How do these people stay in business? |
|
AT&T - previous owners had a landline and canceled it when they moved. I wanted it reactivated. They WILL NOT DO IT. You can only get the VOIP phone which uses the internet - so if the electricity or the internet goes out, you have no phone. I told them to name their price, all I wanted was for them to turn on the switch so the phone jack will work again in an emergency. They told me they would not do it for any amount of money because they are phasing out the copper lines. Infuriating.
Pharmacies - Why do they have drive-throughs if they aren't going to staff them? I have only used it when I had a sick child in the backseat and it has never taken less than 45 minutes to pick up medication. This was long before Covid. |
| Comcast is at the top of my list. I've had multiple bad experiences with them, one of the best (worst?) was when my internet was down and after several days of trying to get in touch with them I finally got a person on the phone who insisted I had to go to their website and find the page with the steps of what to do to solve the issue. The problem was literally that I had NO internet so I could not reach their website to see this page and the person on the phone just kept repeating the URL. It was one of the top 5 most frustrating conversations of my life. |
