Homeless Man Killed by Fellow Passenger on NYC Subway

I know everyone gets a kick out of painting NYC as a crime ridden hellhole, but that’s just not the case. NYC’s murder rate is far below that of many cities in the US, including, I believe, DC’s.

Should Daniel Penny go to prison, or not?

Absolutely not. He should get a medal. He did a public service.

Why isn’t Sharpton speaking up about the ramped up crime? Lives matter.

Sharpton was on stage at neeley's funeral.

The only thing he spoke out about was all if the merchandise at Duane Reade was locked up.

It's either you lock them up or the merchandise. They won. Now we can't shop freely.

I hope this is accurate....

The Big Apple straphanger charged with stabbing a rowdy ex-con to death on a Brooklyn J train was found to have acted in self-defense — leading to his manslaughter case being dismissed Wednesday, The Post has learned.

A grand jury declined to indict 20-year-old Jordan Williams, who had been charged with manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon in the June 13 melee that left Devictor Ouedraogo dead.

His self-defense claim was bolstered by video footage presented to the grand jury, which allegedly showed Ouedraogo choking Williams and his girlfriend before Williams stabbed him, according to sources.

In addition to the unreleased video of the incident, the sources said witnesses on the train also supported Williams’ claim that he acted in self-defense after he was attacked by Ouedraogo.

“Our office conducted an impartial and thorough investigation of this tragic case, which included review of multiple videos and interviews with all available witnesses, and that evidence was fairly presented to a grand jury. Today, the charges against Jordan Williams have been dismissed,” a spokesman for District Attorney Eric Gonzalez said in a statement

Good. They should be dropped.

As should the charges against Daniel Penny.

+100
I just can't see a jury convicting Penny. Not if any of those serving on the jury ride the subway.

Yesterday in Queens, a man riding a moped indiscremently was shooting at random people on the streets, hitting 3 and killing 1... meanwhile Daniel Penny remains under indictment...

The safety of law-abiding citizens who are trying to live good, productive lives does not seem to be a priority for New York's government leaders.

This is awful and terrifying. When will the random gun violence stop? NYC leadership has to do better.

this is due in larger part to the incredibly accelerated pace of gun availability in the US. we’re killing ourselves with the constitution.

Watching him stumbling and falling down to die there was so very sad to watch. Totally senseless killing by someone who should not have been free, given his history.

This elderly gentleman was on his to his mosque. He was truly an innocent victim, yet hardly any comments of sympathy on DCUM.
