Mommas, don't let your sons grow up to be assholes

Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be armchair internet quarterbacks.

And if OP was in my neighborhood she wouldnt have to ask. I'm happy to share my husband out.......

*Bow chicka bow wow chicka chicka!*

PP, bite me means FU.

I'm not into the kind of kinky stuff that clearly goes on in your cul-de-sac.

[sarcasm on]

OMG I had NO idea that the sort of mean spirited selfish bitch that would come on the innanetz and tell a single mother with a young son to suck it up after she spent HOURS shoveling out her driveway to have it A) be the only one on her block plowed back in and B) have people that are her FRIENDS and the GODFATHER OF HER SON make shitty comments about it, really mean FU when she said BITE ME! Gosh! However did I miss that one! I'd love to stay and chat but being kinky and all I must go and give the nice neighbor whose shoveling our walkway a bj. Fairs fair after all.

Ta ta! [/sarcasm off]

The on off was redundant. That is what the / is for.

I haven't read the whole thread but the lesson here seems to be that we should all wait for the plows to pass before shoveling out the bottom of the driveway.

I get that women need to be direct and ask for help when they need it and stop expecting people (especially men) to automatically come to your rescue.

Bingo!

If neighbor was OP's son's godfather, I don't see why she felt uncomfortable asking neighbor to help out.

so sorry that happened OP.

I am also a single mom and the SAME thing happened to me in the last storm - the plowman totally plowed me in, TWICE, once when I WAS standing right there.

What I learned is to wait until the plows have likely made their last pass before shoveling out my driveway. my driveway was clear when they first came through, and honestly, I think he needed a place to put all that snow! and he chose my cleared driveway I did cry also when I went out and saw this. I cleared it out, only to have him come through a few hours later and this time, just incidentally, because he had the plow "aimed" towards my side of the street, another smaller load of snow filled in my cleared driveway.

A neighbor did help me - a 65 ish single woman! She kicked @ss! I couldn't believe how she was throwing that heavy snow up over her shoulder. She was inspirational

I (woman) was out for hours shoveling our driveway with my 9 yr old DS. Nobody offered to help me, although plenty of neighbors saw me. I didn't think anything of that--some even stopped by to chat. I know I seemed perfectly capable of shoveling. I suspect that if I had asked for help, they might have. The only people who offered to shovel were the roaming bands of men who were charging for it ($100!!!)--no thanks.

DH was inside--working out. I was shoveling because I offered to pay DS, he was overwhelmed, and I got bored. Our neighborhood seemed to have a mix of men and women shoveling, but interestingly, no kids/teenagers, even though most of the area has kids in the 10 - 17 range. What happened to kids making extra money that one?

Just curious.

10 48 here. Also my neighbor across the street has several strapping young sons who clear him out every time there is a storm in a jiffy. Guess how many times any one of them or the parents have offered to help me? NEVER.

PP, your comment reminded me of those college students working the summer jobs at Outerbanks, NC. Almost none were Americans. I heard that the tourist industry has to fly them in from Eastern Europe. All the kids we saw in the Fudge shops, Gift stores and restaurants were from Czech Republic.

Again, why do you feel entitled to special treatment because you are a single mom?

Yknow, apart from exhibit a little empathy and compassion for someone who's having a bit of rough and wanted to vent?

Empathy and compassion for a whiney Princess? What would be her motivation to change?
