This is very disrespectful to say about your ap. |
I wonder why they haven't...? Maybe employers would have to start putting them on the books. |
NP here. Unfortunately, we just can't trust all of you not to be gold-diggers, because quite a few of you are. So get out of here with that "why would hot young me want an old man for?" bs. Not saying you specifically ever had bad intentions, but I've heard too many stories from neighbors, friends, and friends of friends over the past 35+ years to be ignorant of the dangers of the hiring a hot nanny when the household is quite affluent. |

Wow all you woman sound so insecure and desperate. I have a very pretty nanny but trust my DH 100%. I wouldn't have married him if I couldn't trust him to be around an attractive woman and not act like a horny teenage boy.
Most of these women are diluted. My husband is hot to me but I'm sure at 48, he is not hot to a 25 year old who gets plenty of attention from men her age. I trust both of them 100%. |
Maybe you enjoy talking incessantly about Michael Kors and Tommy Hilfiger, but it is nonsense to me. She's a nice girl and my children love her, but because she talks nonsense on her free time (as do all 20yr olds) I have zero attraction to her. |

You say she dresses in a way that shows off that great body OP.
This is totally inappropriate in my opinion as I work as a nanny and always dress conservative around my nanny families. I would never wear anything revealing on the job and neither should she. That in itself speaks volumes for her character if she honestly dressed like that for your first meeting. She should have dressed more professional for her interview. Plus, why create a situation that could lead to marital problems later down the line?? Best to err on the side of caution and hire someone older, heavier, less attractive. Instead of Kate Upton...Try Susan Boyle perhaps. I haven't heard anything about her in years so maybe her singing career stalled. She could be looking for a nanny position as we speak. |
You haven't heard of men lusting after their younger subordinates? Where have you been? |
|
Hell nah. I had a crush on DD's hot former teacher at one point. Something about a hot person connecting with and being nurturing to your child makes it hard not to think naughty thoughts. Doesn't mean anyone will act on them, but I definitely wouldn't want those thoughts occurring in my household.
Find someone well qualified and homely. |
You said it. Sometimes there's something inexplicable about your child's nurturing caregiver that makes her (or him) alluring. If this person is working full-time in the privacy of your home with an absent spouse, keeping your distance can be too much for some men. We all know how vulnerable female employees are in the workplace, but at least they have the possibility of the law to protect them. Behind closed doors, if a nanny refuses her employer's unwelcomed advances, she's simply out of a job. Under such circumstances, she doesn't even qualify for temporary unemployment assistance until she can secure a new job. And just how could she get another nanny job without an accurate reference from her disgruntled former employer? |

| Yes I would! My kids would love her if she is pretty, fun and outgoing. And my husband probably would love having her around too for obvious reasons. And if you think she would be great at the job its a win win situation. Everyone is happy. If everyone is happy, I am happy. Go for it. |
| NO WAY. There are tons of older ladies who are great, experienced nannies. I'd go for them. |

Another DH here: we have had not one, but two, very attractive au pairs, in addition to several rather homely ones. For any decent guy, this should not present any issues of concern. At least in my experience, the au pair relationship creates vaguely paternal feelings, which are quite antithetical to any sort of meaningful sexual interest. I was as surprised as anyone that this is how it seems to work.
This is true despite the way they dress -- I swear, they must instruct the girls to flounce around in basically nothing as part of au pair training -- which, as unbelievable as it may sound, you end up not really noticing, other than to hope that your own daughter doesn't become unduly influenced by the Hollister short-shorts, etc. |
My AP covers up like a Nun. It's suprising since she's European. |
