Moms - would you hire a young beautiful nanny??

Lol. Someone is playing attorney on this thread. Read Title VII of the Civil Right Act. OP would not meet the threshold of an "employer" subject to Title VII (I'm assuming OP doesn't hire more than 15 or more employees etc).

Men can develop feelings for (non-familial) women who look after their kids.... don't hire her.

Nanny here. I will never again interview with a family if the father works out of a home office, and is home all the time.

It's a very weird thing to have him watch you love and care for his baby... the way the wife "typically" would, IF she were there?
He eventually started to make passes at me, so I left them. I don't think the mother was ever concerned that her husband was "that" type of guy. I still feel horrible about leaving that child.

I don't understand why mothers do this kind of setup. Don't people understand how different things are in the man's own home, when his wife is far away? Complete privacy with the nanny/au pair while kid is napping.

Do none of you trust your husbands?

You seem not to understand. Sorry.

'Trust' has nothing to do with it. You should know that by now.

That being said, I am now divorced. My ex was cheating. So take my advice for what it is worth...lol.

Thanks for the chuckle!

Kudos to the honest man who wrote this!

Just interviewed a nanny with great credentials and honestly she seems way smarter and potentially better than any of the other candidates we've interviewed so far. However, she is very young, gorgeous, has a bod that makes Kate Upton look like a homely nobody and wears clothes that make that very clear. I'm sure I'm particularly sensitive to the contrast since I am a new Mom and feel like a flabby lactating mess.

I trust my DH, I know the nanny has a serious boyfriend (and anyway while I love him most Kate Upton lookalikes are unlikely to find my dear DH that interesting lol) but I don't know if it is just asking for trouble. I will be traveling a lot once I go back to work and although it is admittedly silly, I don't know if I will feel weird knowing my DH is spending time (even if it just transitioning before and after work) with this lady.

IDK - If I were interviewing for a nanny position (or any position), I don't think I'd wear clothes that accentuate my figure. Professional, yes, tight clothes, no.

What does your husband think of this person?

Her choice of clothes stood out to me as well.

A dad here. Smh. So many of my fellow males are such losers. We've had a a few beautiful, intelligent, funny nannies. I may have looked at their butts some but beyond that I never said or did anything inappropriate. What would be the point?!?

OP, go with your gut.

You looked at their butts and restrained yourself? BTDT. BUT, you still looked and probably thought some impure thoughts. Why? Because virtually all men are visual. So, if I were a woman I wouldn't mind my husband looking but I sure as hell wouldn't bring someone into our home built like Kate.

Sadly the pool of potential employers for the extremely attractive nanny may be limited based on her looks, even though she is probably an excellent nanny. She may want to consider other types of employment where her attractiveness would be an asset rather than a liability.

Perhaps if she dressed in a manner that didn't show every curve it would help.

On the other hand, if the PYT showed interest in me (even that faux-waitress-looking-for-a-tip interest) might spark some competitive spirit in my wife, making sex more likely.

Or your wife could eventually be on a Snapped episode.

I thought she was discriminating based on bra size...

State acts are more restrictive. Although household employees are usually exempt.

DH here. We have a hot AP. The second she opened her mouth, she no longer became hot. Most of what comes out of the mouth of young women is complete nonsense.

Yep. "Domestic workers" have about zero protections.
Can they form a national union of some sort??
