- Celebrate autumn with Potomac Crescent Waldorf School on Saturday, October 22nd, 2016 from 10:00 - 2:00 PM for our annual Fall Festival!!! This is a festive rain or shine event with fun for the whole family! We are offering traditional crafts and games, a blacksmith demonstration, a spinning wheel demonstration, local artisan sales, a healthy lunch, cider & popcorn, a bake sale, marionette and puppet plays, a storyteller, a Children's Store, a Waldorf Bookstore and live music! Tickets go on sale soon, and will also available at the door by credit, cash or check. Entry tickets cost $5 per person with a maximum of $25 per family. Crafts, games and food priced individually. Play and storyteller tickets sold separately, and cost $7 and less. Potomac Crescent Waldorf School is located in the education wing of Fairlington Presbyterian Church at 3846 King Street, Alexandria, VA 22302. Our festival will be held on our playground and front lawn, and in our Fellowship Hall in case of rain. - Family Reading EdVenutre is an opportunity for students in grades k-2 and their parents to have fun together with reading. This free event features a variety of activities and games to encourage everyday reading and learning. Together you and your child will make memories through the joy of reading. Participate in a series of interactive stations that will have you creating a comic strip, enjoying theater readings, making a cootie catcher for story talk- and so much more. Ideas such as story elements, sequencing, following directions and visualization will be explored. No special knowledge or previous experience is necessary. Test your reading skills-you’ll leave with a goody bag and a smile!
