Burgundy Farm Country Day School's 7th Grade Class Presents One Thousand Cranes, the true story of Sadako Sasaki, who was 2 when an atomic bomb hit her hometown of Hiroshima, Japan, and 12 when she developed leukemia as a result of the radiation. Amid the legend that folding 1,000 paper cranes grants sick persons the wish of good health, Burgundy's 7th grade ensemble challenges our notions of conflict, bravery and generosity.
Performances will be held Thursday, Nov. 17 and Friday, Nov. 18 at 7 p.m. at The George Washington Masonic National Memorial, 101 Callahan Drive, Alexandria. Tickets are $5 for adults and $1 for children. Pre-show concessions such as pizza, snacks, and drinks will be sold at the site.
The show is recommended for children ages 6 and up. We expect the performance to run just over an hour, without an intermission.
Click the link below to purchase tickets in advance; tickets will also be available at the door unless we reach capacity. All seating is general admission. Children, including Burgundy students, must have a ticketed seat with their families.
When you arrive at the theater, please check in to confirm your reservation.
