Washington International Horse Show Welcomes Mounted Police and Their Horses

Stop by for breakfast with the Mounted Police at the Washington International Horse Show to meet the officers and their mounts! The breakfast will take place at Hotel Monaco, which is located on the site of the first post office in Washington, DC. This 19th century post office used to load and unload horses on a buggy around the back of the building.  A bountiful human and horse friendly buffet will be provided by curbside at Hotel Monaco at the Verizon Center. In the afternoon, guests can watch professional and amateur hunter riders finish their divisions with a stake class, offering a larger purse, as well as the first show jumping class, the WIHS Children’s Jumper Championship, where riders under 18 compete to win a share of $10,000.
