Bolivia declares Israel terrorist regime

Bolivia has declared Israel a “terrorist state” and revoked a visa exemption agreement with Tel Aviv in protest at the ongoing Israeli attacks on the besieged Gaza Strip.

The move "means, in other words, we are declaring (Israel) a terrorist state," President Evo Morales said during talks with a group of educators in the city of Cochabamba on Wednesday.

Morales added that the Israeli offensive shows "that Israel is not a guarantor of the principles of respect for life and the elementary precepts of rights that govern the peaceful and harmonious coexistence of our international community."

You are humanizing a terrorist organization. To the Hamas supporters on this board, make no mistake that your "friends" would come for you in a heartbeat. I don't care what religion you practice.

Was that a serious question ?

Muslima wrote:Hello,
I have a few questions that maybe you guys can help me with. I have always been curious about Religion in general, but never really meet a lot of religious people that I can ask some questions that I have . So here it goes :

-If you're Christian: Do you guys have a certain number of mandatory prayers that you do every day? For ex, Muslims pray 5 time a day.Does it depend on what branch of Christianity you follow? What is the difference between Catholics, Protestants and Methodists? Can you guys go to each other's churches?

-Jews: Shalom. What do you guys consider "Kosher". Muslims eat "Halal" but If I don't see something halal at the store, I usually buy Kosher because I was told that is very similar to Halal, even though I really don't know what Kosher fully means, I think I understand the concept but never really asked a jewish person, so maybe you can help me out? Also, do you guys have a certain number of mandatory daily prayers like the Muslims do? Do you do ablutions before prayers?

That's all guys, thanks

Muslima

Welcome. I am a Conservative Jew. I am not completely observant myself (we usually only eat kosher meat in our home, but I will eat nonkosher meat out, and we do not keep two sets of dishes, etc).

My understanding is that the requirements for how an animal is slaughtered are similar as between kosher and hallal. The prayers said over the slaugher are of course different, and while SOME imams accept the consumption of kosher meat where hallal is not available, as far as I know NO jewish legal authority, either Orthodox or Conservative does so. Some Jews I know will eat Hallal in place of kosher meat - both because its often very difficult to find kosher meat (and they are unwilling to forego meat entirely) and for the sake of peace.

Salaam/shalom

Shalom, thank you for responding. I didn't know some jews ate halal as well, though I know a lot of muslims would buy kosher given the choice between regular meat and kosher.

No, the islamic position is that the early followers got it right but most of them were persecuted and killed

Just so I understand, the Islamic position is that the first followers got it right, but other so-called Christians persecuted and killed them, and then imposed their own version of what Jesus said? This would make Mohammed's message, which is indeed different from Jesus' message on many counts, a "correction" to the renegade Christians. Correct me if I'm wrong!

No, it wasn't other Christians who killed them. After Jesus 's ascension (peace be upon him) , his disciples continued spreading his message.
message and continued to follow a righteous path. They were abused, oppressed, and tortured by the Jews of their time. So much so, that none remained alive. People dispersed in all directions. Some claimed that Jesus alayhe salam was God. Others claimed he was the son of God. Yet, others said that he is one of three parts - the Trinity.
Confusion continued until the arrival of the promised messenger - Muhammad salla allahu alayhe wasalam. He came to confirm the word of Allah and to clarify the position of Jesus alayhe salam. We are told in the Quran that Jesus told them about the coming of the Prophet saw : Jesus, the son of Mary, said: “O Children of Israel! I am the messenger of Allah (sent) to you, confirming the Law (which came) before me, and giving Glad Tidings of a Messenger to come after me, whose name shall be Ahmad.” But when he came to them with Clear Signs, they said, “this is evident sorcery!”  (Qur’an 61:6, )
During the lifetime of Muhammad saw, there were Christians who recognized in him the fulfillment of Jesus’ prophecy (and there were Jews as well as Christians who saw him as the fulfillment of some of the Hebrew prophets’ statements)

It's well known that there is limited free press in Gaza, other reporters have been harassed or kicked out for not toeing Hamas's line. This is indicative of how Hamas operates.

I read this. Of course no one is going to believe it.

Yea this would have been good but an NBC reporter witnessed the attacks and said it was from the IDF not Hamas. You can google it.........
I think you should know by now that I am not scared to take a stand. I could've very well stayed Anonymous if I just wanted to open a bunch of threads and sock puppet. I don't have time for that......
Thank you everyone. I appreciate all responses and have learned from you.

Israel just asked us to leave them alone :
“Leave us alone,” Ariel told Army Radio, directing his words at Obama. “Go focus on Syria.”

PP, I never made that distinction and don't think most people think about dissolving Israel when they tweet that. What you have to understand is most Palestinians are more concerned about a free Palestine than destroying Israel

Well, you were the one who posted about it.

I was responding to the PP who mentioned Argentinas history with Nazis

I understand that it is the least of your concerns, However, the purpose of this forum is to respond to the postings of others and have a conversation of sorts. You mentioned the remarks of the Argentina president and other people posted comments that provided a context in which to view those remarks ( in this case, the history of former Nazi's, the Jews and the current anti-Semitism in that country).

You have been posting a lot lately on this forum which is great. You have a valuable voice to add to the discussion. However, information and education are also valuable. It is important to take into context the comments of world leaders. Dismissing information that may provide that context with a "that is the least of my concerns..." is not very intellectually honest.

I agree, thank you for pointing that out and I apologize for dismissing your comment. It is just that not only in this forum, but every platform, when a positive remark is made towards Palestine, automatically people come back with "but there was the Holocaust, but Arabs killed jews , Muslims are killing each other, ect" it seems like every wrong that was done in the past is used to justify the current wrong being done now but I shouldnt have dismissed your comment.
You might think that those tweets are insignificant but they are not. How many times do you see someone get fired because of a tweet or a show getting dropped by a network because of it? We live in a time where social media is powerful. A few weeks ago , Rihanna and Dwight Howard tweeted #freePalestine and were bullied into deleting the tweets. We're having an entire civilian population being bombed, and yet, an athlete tweeting?#?freepalestine? is smacked down with an immediacy that speaks to how desperate Israel and their backers are to keep them insulated from even a whiff of criticism. I am not mad at Dwight Howard or Rihanna for deleting those tweets. I wanted to thank them. I wanted to thank them for showing with utter clarity what few will say openly: that acknowledging the humanity of the Palestinian people comes with a price.
Looks like its a big deal to you ?
Anonymous wrote:Yes, but can they find Israel on a map?

They are movie actors. Why does their opinion matter more than your opinion or mine? Those two actors opinions are certainly not worth a big announcement any more than if it was my neighbor's down the street.

Because usually, people don't care about anonymous people posting on a forum, but celebrities, head of states and people who have a big following can voice these messages and get heard better than you and I. It is for that same reason that the UN uses celebrities as ambassadors, not for their looks......
