All,
Does anyone know which companies to submit your babies pictures for baby modeling?

I see so many cute babies on the cover of parenting and baby magazines, I want to submit my daughters pictures.

Please advise.
Stephanie

All,

Any Baby's R Us with a Photo studio will give you 12 free birth announcements for babies less than I 4 months? I took my daughter to the Babys R Us in Silver Spring when she was 11 weeks. She took several different shots and I did receive 12 free birth announcements. They take the photos, upload them to their computer and you sit with them to put the announcements together. You select things like background color, titles, fonts, pictures, etc. In addition to knowing the day your bundle of joy was born, you may need to know Time and Weight of your child.

Afterwards they will talk to you about other items you can purchase.

Dr. Wulf isn't good at all.

I switched from Georgetown OB/GYN to FoxHall OB/GYN. Foxhall is rignt around the corner and Dr. Engel, Dr. Sarifian, and Dr. Lightfoot are great.

I had my prenatal appointments with Dr. Engel.

Dr. Brown bottles will leak if they're shakened too much. If the tube in the bottle is full of Milk, just open the top to release the milk. Otherwise, the milk will leak when you turn the bottle upside down.

Also, Dr. Brown sells different level nipples. Level 1 is for 0 to 3 months. If you decide to use Dr. Brown bottles (which is what I use), look at the nipple closely to determine the level. My daughter started with Level 1 nipples and now she's on Level 2 and she's 4 months old.

All,
Since I had my daughter in April, I've been receiving free baby formula in the Mail. I'm not sure if this is part of the "pregnancy" program I signed up for through my health insurance (Blue Cross PPO) or becuse I delivered at Sibley Memorial.

I'd like to give it away to a family in need.

Please advise where I can donate it. It's unopened and it's Similac Advance and Enfimil Lipil w/ Iron.

Thanks,
Stephanie

Ladies,
Has anyone had their kids at either KinderCare or La Petite Academy?

I toured both of them and ended up choosing La Petite Academy because they're close to my home and they're cheaper than KinderCare.

I've noticed La Petite Academy doesn't do child development for infants even though they told me they do. No tummy time, singing, music, etc.

My daughter just turned 4 months and when I pick her up from La Petite, she's been crying and looks a little drowsy.

Is anyone doing Montessori for infants?

Stephanie

My daughter is 3 months and I'd like to get her added to the best Early Child Development Center wait list.

I live in Virginia. Can someone tell me which development centers are the best in the Wash. Metro area?

Thanks for your help.
Has anyone put their infants in a Montessori program?

I had my first child in April of this year at age 39.

I was advised by my prenatal team to get extra testing since I was over 35.

Make sure you have resources such as a 24-hour Ask A Nurse hotline available

Try to sign-up for support for yourself either from your health insurance or through Mommy Groups. I joined a few Mommy Groups on Meetup.com.

I'm on a Moms Meetup group and someone asked where they could sell their kids toys and clothes. Apparently "Kid to Kid" sells gently-used toys and clothes. Here's the URL and I believe there's one in Centreville.

All,
In April 2008, I gave birth to a baby girl. The week after my daughter was born, her father took a paternity test and it showed he is the father (99.999999% positive).

He's in the Marine Corps and left for Afghanistan in April. I haven't heard from him since he left.

What's the process for getting child support and establishing paternity?

My concern is he may be trying to dodge his responsibility.

I live in Maryland.

Thanks for your help.
