just like the inauguration event! I wonder if I do manage to get a ticket if it will be worth anything!
so I logged on to get tickets this morning and, of course, the website is hanging. Has anyone successfully logged on gotten tickets? How sad...I bet their servers crashed...did they really expect only 2 or 3 people to log on?!
I'm considering summer "camp" for my 2.5 year old this summer at CCBCCC (http://www.ccbccc.org/summercamp.html). This will be my son's first experience with any kind of daycare environment, and I want to be sure his first exposure is a good one. He'll be going for 3 days a week.'

Does anyone have any opinions good or bad about CCBCCC in general or specifically about the summer programs?

Thanks so much!

Just this morning I stripped my bra off in despair in my office and put my inner-bra yoga tank on under my work shirt and sweater b/c I was so uncomfortable. I'm 36 weeks, breasts are HUGE, and it seems nothing is comfortable -- bras with underwires cut into my ribcage and sides, those without underwires pull on my shoulders and give me horrible upper back/neck pain, and going without a bra just isn't an option in a law office during the day, and barely is at home (I feel like the lack of support can't be good for my breasts). I just ordered a bunch of nursing bras and bra-tanks from Bravada, hoping they will help, and I'm eyeing the Glamourmom nursing tank. Has anyone had success with these? I can't fathom these boobs getting any bigger, but every week, they just keep growing (was a D pre-preg; in an E cup now, and wondering if I may soon go to an F)... to those in the same boat, I feel your pain, and send you tons of empathy!

I feel your pain! I'm 37 weeks and am in an F now... God HELP ME when that milk comes in!!! By the way, before the first pregnancy I was a C cup, my son is now 2 years old and before this pregnancy I was still a D... sucks man...I can't wear shirts that button up the front!!!

Screw the Bravada sleep bra, I may have gotten the wrong size, but it's not a full-coverage bra and so while you sleep on your side your breast comes out and just kind of hangs there (sorry so graphic, meant to be funny), then when you flip over same thing happens and...well, you get the picture.

My best sleep bra has been the yoga things...but then they won't help when nursing time comes...gotta find one that works!
at 18 months my son wouldn't let anyone near his hair. His is the same as what you describe, really fine soft hair. I cut it at home...that is to say, I snipped the long ends that were reaching his eyes, hanging over his ears and the back a bit. I did this while he slept! I put down a huge sheet bath towel under him when I put him down for his nap...waited 30 mins after he fell asleep to make sure he was sound asleep and snip, snip, snip!

I've been doing it that way this whole time, he's 25 months old now and I still do it this way...I'm thinking this summer we'll try the barber shop again.

Good luck!
I will add that at no point am I 100% comfortable in any of bras! I have the same issue many of you are referring to, that the bra feels like it's cutting off circulation or that I can't breath. Even now I have on the underwire and it's digging into me...my latest fun experience is the hooks on the back somehow cut into my skin since I'm using the last row of hooks.

I'm 37 weeks now and I'm measuring 41 weeks...my rapid growth is probably not helping the bra-fit situation; but like the rest of you I refuse to go buy yet another bra! In the search of bra happiness I've purchased at least 5 diff sizes during this pregnancy because I swore I would not add bra-misery to this pregnancy like I did the last one.

Still, I'm not buying another with only 2 weeks until the delivery...I'll wait until the milk is in and despite extreme fatigue and soreness from a c-section will go out sometime within the first two weeks after delivery to be fitted for a nursing bra that fits properly.

Good luck ladies...let us all know if you find some miracle bra that's insanely cloud-soft comfy !
Anonymous wrote:I do wear one and I can't stand how large my breasts have gotten with this pregnancy. Do you take it off to be more comfy or do you always keep it on? Does your DH care at all?

I'm quite large during this pregnancy too. I find that I'm more comfortable with a bra on! Make sure you've been fitted properly since your new size...it really makes an insane difference in your comfort. Try Sylene's in Friendship Heights/Chevy Chase for a good fitting...get the older woman to help you (can't think of her name right now).

I have an underwire bra for good support when out of the house and a nice soft no wires bra for at home. I also had to invest in a "sleep" bra..really I'm so big no bra is very, very uncomfortable!

If you did get quite big...watch out, going without a bra too much cause more sagging problems later.

Yeah, I saw those threads after I had trouble getting them to respond for a tour; I've tried several times - after all that negative stuff about the school combined with their lack of interest in returning my calls I gave up on them.
Anonymous wrote:PP, did you get your money back?

Nope. No money returned. They never answer the phone when I call (I guess they have caller ID)...I can't get in to talk to them face-to-face since they are always locked up and I have to ... you guessed it CALL to get them to let me in! It's just all sooo sooo very unprofessional! I'm 37 weeks pregnant with some minor complications, I'm out of steam dealing with this so they've pretty much "won" they have a free $500 from us.
I'm curious if you found anything. I'm in the 20010 zip code as well and am having a really hard time finding a good place. I actually applied and planned to send my son to Little Flower. I had (and continue to have) quite a horrible experience with them. To save on a long-winded story check here on the Columbia Heights forum for my story: http://www.columbiaheightsnews.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=875

I've had to expand my search and actually took a tour of Friendship Children's Center in Chevy Chase this morning...mostly because it's in my son's Grandmother's neighborhood, but I really would like to stick to my neighborhood.

I plan on looking at Rosemont and Amazing Life. Did you find any others? What school did ultimately you go with?

Hi All, I'm due with number two in March, Live in Mt. Pleasant in DC and would love to meet up as well...I'm home all day so any time and almost any place works.
I had/have sciatica too. Go see Andre at Elizabeth Arden Red Door spa on Conn. Ave. he worked wonders and if you're not too uptight about it...he even worked out that horrible pain associated with sciatic issues that shoots through your butt! The other thing that helped me was a massaging cushion my husband bought for me, it heats and massages, it's like a seat cushion that can be moved to any chair...works out the minor kinks quite well.
Anonymous wrote:OP here. I mean the CVS test. I just realized that early screen tests are suggested for women UNDER 35 and that those over should go straight for the CVS.
I'm a little clueless about all of this. From my understanding the CVS is invasive. To the PP, did you do the CVS??
When I was pregnant at 33 I didn't do the test for down-syndrome at the 5 month stage because I didn't think I'd be able to go through an abortion. I had my first child outside the U.S (I'm new here), so the whole prenatal care system here is kinda strange to me.
Regarding the nuchal test, I'm also confused about that. Where I had my child before they did the nuchal test at the 12/13 week stage (and told me that was the crucial time to do it in), but here they have scheduled my visits for 11 weeks and then 15 weeks, which suggests to me that it is either too early or too late to do the nuchal test--anyone have any idea?

I didn't read all of the responses so I apologize if repeat something. I turned 35 during my first pregnancy, and I'm now 37 during my second. I did NOT do the invasive down-syndrome test for either - despite the geneology person urging me a bit more than she should have during the first pregnancy. The way I saw it was, it has the possibility of causing problems for the baby PLUS they have a high rate of false positives - these two combined made the decision very easy for me - no test.

My approach last time and this time was this: have them do the blood test first (blood is drawn from you - your arm no where else) to see if there are any warning signs. If there had been any issues with the blood test THEN I would revisit the invasive approach.

Having said all of that, it seems I've read an article lately that they have developed a safer more non-invasive way to test.
I had the same thoughts as you up until about my 5th month of pregnancy.

I'm not sure what your situation is on a daily basis (ie. are you in the city and walk everywhere, are you in the car most of the time, do you only use the stroller in the malls) but for me, I live in the District and walk everywhere (grocery store, park, visiting friends, everywhere). My son will be 26 months old in March when my baby is born. I do plan to get a double stroller. Not a day went by that I didn't use my stroller with my first, and he is extremely fond of the stoller now. Whether he's fond of it or not, our walks/outtings tend to be roughly 2 or 3 hours long...no way he could walk that long.

I've done my research and plan to buy the Phil & Teds Vibe. But, I'm not buying it immediately. I plan to have the newborn in a sling with me pretty much all the time for the first 2 or 3 months. I plan to use that time to see how life is with these two boys; but I can't imagine not having a double stroller.

Good luck!

I'm very disheartened to hear all the negative things I'm hearing about the British School of Washington. I really liked their curriculum and approach and was hoping to find a school I put my son in when he turns 3 and keep there until high school graduation...hoping to get a great education for him and the opportunity for him to make lasting friendships. After reading these posts, however, I may go back to researching other schools.
