I expect 4 things of President Trump
1. Build a wall, and deport ALL illegal immigrants. Extremely vet people who want to come here.
2. Large tax CUTS and economic nationalism
3. A non-interventionist foreign policy
4. Only strictly conservative judges get Supreme Court appointments.

If he can do those 4 things, I'm happy!
This talk of "pleb tier" and "patrician schools" amuses me. There are no more "patrician schools. " Virtually all colleges are now "pleb tier" The Ivy League died in the 60s. The Ivys are now all ultra-Leftist diverse dumps, and lovers of everything that has destroyed Western civilization( Feminism, the LGBT perversion, and all other forms of Cultural Marxism) Just because someone can get whatever job they want after they graduate from the Ivys doesn't make them "petrician schools." A true "petrician school" would be all-male, and would only educate the aristocracy/elite. Harvard, Yale, Oxford, Cambridge, Williams, Amherst, Hamilton, Trinity, Hampden-Sydney, W&L, and Davidson all used to be petrician colleges. Then the 60s came, and all of them embraced Cultural Marxism.
Any thoughts on this school?( academics, student body, athletics, etc) Is it well respected?
Berkeley is a joke of a college. It might as as well be called Cultural Marxist State University. I wouldn't go if they paid me to attend. Any White parents who send their kids to a place like this hate themselves and their kids. They are suffering from "white guilt" Blacks and other "oppressed" groups need to be told to shut up or leave the university. The sole purpose of a university is study. If you want to be an agitator, leave the university and agitate elsewhere.
This is something I'm starting to think about. None of the colleges that are currently on my list are all that great. I'd really like to go to UVA because of the strong academics and connections I'd be able to make, but I don't have the grades to get in this year. There's no way I'm doing CC. Are there any good academic postgrad programs for students who want to boost their stats before applying to college? I see several boarding schools ( Northfield Mount Hermon, Avon Old Farms, Exeter) have postgrad programs. How hard is it to get into one of these boarding school postgrad programs? I'm looking for a 1-2 year program where I can boost my stats before applying to college. Thoughts?

They need all of your love, support and assistance, maybe now more than ever. Keep doing what you are doing op, and at the very least get 1 to 2 applications in on November 1. Then the ball will be in motion and your DC will hopefully be more able to get the balance of the applications in for regular decision. My DC got it all together by the regular decision deadline, and not a moment sooner.

Jusrnwant t echo this. We've already had two suicides in our senior class and school has barely started. It's hard to parent kids this age. Good luck and as ,p,p says, cC is a gooodmoption for kids who aren't ready.

TWO SUICIDES? My goodness, this kinda thing just blows my mind. Im currently a high school senior, and there's certainly some stress involved in college applications. All you've got to do is look at my most recent threads. College applications take up a good amount of time, and there's always a fear that you might not get in anywhere. I'm certainly no fan of the way modern American higher education works. All that being said, I could never even imagine why a 17/18 year old who's got their whole life ahead of them would commit suicide due to this whole process. I'm not in the best situation because I was somewhat lazy for most of high school, but I can't wait for what the future will bring. I'm a realist about my situation, but you've got to look at the bright side of things to be happy as a high school senior. If you fear you might not get in anywhere, find some safety schools.( I've got 3 of them) Seeing some of the comments on this forum though, I'd imagine that some parents put an unreasonable amount of pressure on their kids. It seems like some people on here think that if you don't get into an Ivy, a NESCAC, or some top public university, you're a failure. I'm glad I don't live in that sort of sink or swim environment. It's not the end of the world if you don't get into Harvard, UVA, or Williams. I wouldn't go to an Ivy if they paid me to attend.

They have generous endowments that allow them to offer good need based aid and scholarships. Duke, Princeton, even Dartmouth are all examples of schools that may have been traditionally waspy but are now much more diverse. Which, in my view, is a good thing.

Diversity is a joke

I'm a bit nervous about HSC though, because I'm afraid the students might not be serious about academics. How tough is it to transfer to UVA from an LAC like Hampden-Sydney? What do I need to do if I want to do this? My major will be Classics.

Or you could like Hampden-Sydney and not want to leave! Make the most of wherever you end up.

That is very possible. At least from the outside, HSC has everything I'm looking for. Preppy, conservative, a strong core curriculum, and a good Classics department. However, I've heard there's a serious issue with drinking at HSC, and that scares the heck out of me. I'm a very religious guy, and may abstained from alcohol entirely. I don't have an issue with some students drinking on weekends. What I would have an issue with is a huge number of students running around drunk on campus and in dorms.( especially during the week) I liked it when I visited though. Certainly seemed like a place where I'd be happy.

This. You confuse me, OP, with your praise of Sewanee but all too obvious yearning for UVA. NVCC has a path. Seize it and make it happen.

I'm not "yearning" for UVA. There are some glaring negatives with them. Many of the old conservative professors are retiring, and their president is a female Yankee. The best thing about UVA is the connections. Connections mean a lot in this terrible economy.

What's the social environment like at St. John's? Are there preppy/conservative students there? Is the school tolerant of conservative views? It's one of my safety schools.
As I've said in previous threads, I'm applying to Sewanee ED. I need a list of safety schools in case that doesn't work out. I've already applied to Hampden-Sydney and New St. Andrews, so that's 2. I want safety schools that are similar to Sewanee. Small ( no more than 3000 students), strong academics, and a New England prep school feel( preppy student body and a beautiful campus) Any ideas?

That's not really true. I've been logged in for most of my posts, and for those I am not I say "PaleoCon here". It's not fair to accuse me of creating bad posts anonymously.

I know what you mean when the URMs in my office are passed over for promotion. It's a bit of an insult but that's how it is.

Maybe because they don't deserve one.
Yes. Hispanics are the a new victim class. ( blacks, Hispanics, and LGBT are all part of this privileged group)I'm sure they're happy about getting stuff they don't deserve.
