I think it would be tough even with monitored cameras. Someone would need to be looking at that particular camera (out of 105), during the 1-2 seconds she was pulled into the bathroom.

I heard this bathroom was the only set of bathrooms in the building that had doors. The other bathrooms are more open (think like at an airport.. you walk left then right, but no doors involved) and easier to hear what's going on inside. The bathroom was also in a secluded part of the school, near the aux gym.

MCPS security failed -- a routine audit would show this is a trouble point for all kinds of crimes.

What the heck were these five security officers doing when this happened? Were they physically in the school?

I just registered my son for kindergarten in Arlington at our school. I had to bring the physical birth certificate, my mortgage statement plus tax bill, medical and vaccine records and even TB test results! Yet if I didn't speak English and registered through the central office, I guess I could just sign him up no questions asked.

What about the PreK program at Rockville HS? Any comments about that at the meeting?

We live in the neighborhood and my neighbor had sent her DD to the PreK program there three years ago. She has since moved, but it makes me wonder.

Is the preK program completely secure? Locked off from the General student population? Or is there any way these rapists could have had access to kids as young as 4!!

Anyone know how the preK programs in High Schools work?

It looks like if a 14 year old had consented to the act an 18 year old would still be guilty of a 4th degree sexual offense. I have to say that I never knew this was going on in our schools... that adults were set up to go to four years of HS starting at 18 years old. This is absurd. MCPS needs to find alternate programming that aligns with the budgeting needs of the community at large or we let the Fed gov deport illegals from our schools.

And to a PP who suggested that their child was safe in their more expensive neighborhood... nope. The county is spreading enrollment to all schools in the county. This crime could have happened at any school in MCPS.
