According to the police report (in MD case search), the 17 year old suspect was 4'5" tall and weighed 125 pounds.

How does this matter? Size does not always determine strength. Plus there were two of them. And there is no description of the girl (rightfully so).

Don't assume that a 4'5" man is not capable of rape. Especially if there are two of them.

This situation happened in my hometown. It ended up being complicated, and the girl had been in a relationship with the peep previously. She was unwilling, it was at school, and he was found guilty of rape.

Glad the student reported it right away and these guys did not have a chance to flee.

Bethesda Magazine stated that they were being held without bond due to the serious nature of their crimes. The judge added that as recent immigrants, they may also be a flight risk. Be accurate.

So with the info that the judge had, it sounds to me that he believes there was an actual rape that took place.

I actually am somewhat disturbed that so many PPs are willing to chalk this up to an incidence of consensual sex. Doesn't sound that way to me.

This. I don't care if he was here legally or illegally. Girls should be able to attend school and feel safe. I come from a country where girls are often not afforded this opportunity and recognize it's importance.

The preliminary hearing is next month. The hearing today was to determine detention and since they were a flight risk, they were ordered detained. Probably there is enough evidence at this point to show she had sexual intercourse on that day.

DP... it is possible, probably even probable. But, the problem is, you are making an assumption even before facts are known. It's like when there's a shooting, and people automatically think "muslim terrorist" when it's more likely an American guy.

DD's HS has multiple cameras but apparently the kids know where in the school there are no cameras. That stinks. It is shocking that she could not scream or make other noise to draw enough attention to get security or someone to help. Really sad and scary...

Do they not have hall monitors? When I was in HS in the 1980s, there were hall monitors in every hallway. At least one was very obviously an undercover cop. And you needed to have a hall pass to be in the hallway at any point.

I know someone who had sex in the chapel at GC. Consensual. Privileged white kids raised in stable two-parent homes.

Of course there's a difference between consensual sex and rape. Did you read the entire thread? Someone above thinks it's rape bc it happened in the boys room. Well, two kids had consensual sex in the boys room at Rosa Parks Middle School, so it's possible this was consensual too.

Someone posted earlier in the thread that the kids weren't "raised right." That's certainly possible, but the rich white kids from stable homes who had sex in the chapel at GC sorta counter the stereotype of only "bad kids who weren't raised right" having sex at school.

I hope she wasn't raped. That would be awful. She might have been, or maybe not. We don't know. Maybe she went to hook up with her boyfriend and he brought a friend along? Maybe she was raped, or maybe she consented and had second thoughts? Who knows.

Remember the rape near Sherwood that turned out to not actually be a rape? That was earlier this year. Maybe I'm misremembering, but I believe the rumor was it was a stranger, then a week or two later it turned out to be consensual sex with a guy she knew. Again, maybe I'm misremembering, but I'm pretty sure that's what happened. And everyone on DCUM went bananas when people commented that things weren't adding up. Same thing here perhaps since the boys stuck around campus instead of fleeing.

News report was pretty graphic and firm on the rape part. She was forced into the bathroom after turning down advances. One of the boys was reported to ICE, the other's immigration status is unknown, and not the concern of the county. They are focused on prosecuting the rape only.
