Ugh. I wish there were cameras in the entrance to bathrooms (thinking Westland Middle School graffiti). Glad they were caught but feel horrible for the girl.

What is the story at Westland? Did they catch kids doing graffiti on cameras that were already there?

Or did they install cameras after an incident of graffiti? If that's the case, they for damn sure better be installing them at Rockville HS. We're zoned for Rockville HS and if Westland gets cameras for a graffiti incident, it seems reasonable to expect similar security measures after a rape.

Wait until the full story is out on this one. It may not have been rape. There's a preliminary hearing next month.

Also, how is it possible that they do not have any address info on the 2nd student suspect? Isn't that required to attend school? Or was he not even actually a student. Which leads to more security concerns.

Both are students.

People move. People live in temporary housing. People become homeless. People sleep on other people's couches. There are many reasons why the school system might not have a current address.

No current address means homeless or in between foster homes, something like that. Which should not factor into the discussion, but does paint a picture of a child who hasn't been raised right.

An arrest at a school for rape always makes news -- as it should.

That said, let's see how this case plays out. One possibility is this was consensual and the girl made up the story after regretting it later. Notice how the suspects did not flee the school after, but were arrested at school.

There were cameras. Thats how they were able to confirm this and arrest the 2 so quickly.
