According to the left-wing socialist "The Economist" rag, the protests were not the cause of any spikes

Here's a WaPo link for the 10x infection rate higher than those actually tested. https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2020/06/25/coronavirus-cases-10-times-larger/ CDC link showing fatalities are now below average https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nvss/vsrr/covid19/excess_deaths.htm |
We would have seen a spike in NYC by now if the protests were causing spikes. We have not. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/07/01/nyregion/nyc-coronavirus-protests.html?smid=fb-share |

Ok, let me make sure I understand you....
1. You claim the true infection rate is not 2.6 million, but really 26 million. (Not really what that CDC guy in the WaPo article said, but let’s go with it.) 2. Therefore, based on current reported deaths (127k) and your inflated infection rate (26m), you say it’s a 0.5% mortality rate. (This ignores the excess deaths data which suggests the real number of deaths is higher, but again, let’s go with your assumptions.) 3. A little math suggests that to achieve “herd immunity” of 70% infection, we will have over 800,000 US deaths. 4. And as I understand herd immunity, it doesn’t mean the illness or death stops at 70%, but rather that enough people have had it so that it’s continuing on a downward trend and will eventually die out after killing some more people. So the real death number would continue to increase. So are we all really ready for 1 milllion deaths? |
Apparently the "pro-life" party is. |
Sigh, you messed up your percentage conversion. Lets blame the media. |
That is so funny! You think The Economist is left-wing and socialist! You are confusing the European interpretation of “liberal” with how “liberal” is perceived in the US. The Economist (if you ever attempted to read it) is pro free trade, pro privatisation and free markets - not really socialist ideals, my dear. Just because it has criticised Trump for being an idiot (which, let’s face it, he is) you dismiss it as left wing. I suggest you read it. It will make you MUCH better informed. |
Wow. The sarcasm went right over your head. -PP |

Perfect summary of how trump screwed us all ...
https://www.statista.com/chart/22102/daily-covid-19-cases-in-the-us-and-the-eu/ If we had a real president, we’d be on the downside of the thing, and our economy would be starting to open back up. Instead, because trump is a dipshit, we are dying in record numbers and falling behind. He is destroying America. I guess Putin got what he paid for. |
|
At this point, I can only assume trump is intentionally sacrificing America so he can leave Joe Biden with a disaster.
Traitor. |
|
Well, the Administration is spending more effort pushing COVID across the country unfettered than they are trying to actually try to diminish it.
It seems only logical this is helping to destroy the economy and serve Putin's interests. There is really no other logical explanation for such a failure. |
I am the PP you are quoting. All I can say is Whooooooosh. Right over your head. |

52,000 new cases today.
more cases today in Arizona than all of the EU such a tragic failure on all levels, starting with Trump |
