As of March 19, 2020, 15:35 GMT, we have 10,767 cases and 160 deaths. This is a massive failure by Trump. |
| As we test more, we will have more positives. I'm honestly not concerned about that; it's good to test more, and that number would be A LOT higher, were we actually testing people on a massive scale, like South Korea has. The number that concerns me more, is the number of deaths. We hit 100 on Tuesday, I believe. We've added 60 more in the subsequent 2 days, which is a bad trajectory to be on. |
| At this point, we should be over 2 million tests. Yes, any testing is better than no testing, but this should have started en masse in February. |

Hopeful news.....
The malaria drug, Chloroquine, to treat Coronavirus "We're going to make that drug available almost immediately" -- "That's why the FDA has been so great -- it was approved very, very quickly. These people are incredible patriots." This drug has shown positive results thus far. |
Last time I looked, yesterday, the CDC was underreporting numbers compared to PBS and NYT. What does their site say now? |
We are still not at South Korea, or Germany's level in testing. It is very concerning the jump in cases. Our test positive rate is at 10 - 11% which is high. |
|
It's hard to infer anything from the "rate". It reflects more of our rate of testing than of infection.
If anyone knows how to track hospital admissions for pneumonia, that would be a better indicator of what's going on. |
| Liar! It's all a Democrat Hoax! |
He set the ban on travel from China before any other country. Just think what the number would be otherwise. A large percentage of the deaths are directly related to one nursing home in Washington. Others are directly related to travel. I have a question, though. There is now a case in Fairfax County that was a result of travel in Iran. I thought there had long been a ban from travel to Iran. How did this happen? Several cases in Fairfax are directly related to a Nile cruise. This is Trump's fault? https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/covid19/case-information |
| Bans are not the only thing they could have been doing. Why didn't they start mobilizing test kits? |
Italy did a much stricter travel ban three days before Trump did his. It was not effective at all. There is no data to support Trump's wild claim. |
Banning travel by foreign nationals who were recently in China was not a comprehensive solution. We should have ramped up staffing and resources to screen and quarantine travelers arriving from overseas, regardless of their nationality or ethnicity. |

Virginia data. 1% hospitalized. 2 deaths (you can go to press releases and find more details) |
| Italy didn’t have a President calling it a hoax. Italy didn’t have 40% of the population supporting the President in calling it a hoax. Too bad the virus could be limited to those who don’t believe it. |
What isn’t in the numbers is the 4-6 weeks spent in ICU on a ventilator. |
