For those of us who live in communities with large numbers of illegal immigrants, it is a crisis right here in MoCO. It’s proving to be impossible to sustain this influx of illegal immigrants into our communities.

But Montgomery County wants more illegal migrants, no?

Yes. The people of the County and the County leadership have embraced illegal immigrants. CASA de Maryland has a huge influence in politics and is incredibly corrupt.

Uh, no. This is all on you Donald.

Typical do nothing Democrat, while people are dying.

This is a GOP-manufactured “crisis” and all of the propaganda has led to increased migration. The GOP sat on their asses for 2 years and did nothing while they had control of Congress even though they thought there was a “crisis”. Trump turned down $25B. Add in barbaric policies c/o Trump and you have this current sh1tshow.

100% on GOP.

Nice try, though.

The increase in migration is the result of word of mouth that nobody is getting deported. People are coming to the US because they know they can claim asylum, lose, and still not have to leave. It died down shortly after Trump took office because they thought there'd be a crackdown. When it was clear the laws hadn't changed, it resumed. They know coming in with a kid is a ticket into the US. Most unaccompanied kids coming in are coming to join a relative already living here. The relative knows they will never be deported and neither will their children they are smuggling in. So it continues.

I have addressed this with Senator Kaine, Warner and Congressman Beyer via phone call. I will tell you, they say constituents are more concerned with impeachment then with border security.

I personally am very, very concerned about our borders. I have also written Speaker Pelosi as well as Chuck Shumer.

I do not understant why we would give up USA safety in America after fighting for world safety in WWII given lives lost.

I hope our Congress will work with President Trump and soon.

Good for you for reaching out to them. I live in northern VA too and dont even waste my time as I know they will blow off any concerns about illegal immigration. Our senators are so popular they can sit around and do nothing and still win. They have no intention of addressing the issue of illegal immigration- particularly in how it impacts our schools. I'm pretty disillusioned by the while issue.

And this is why Trumo will win again.

Exactly. President Trump will win again. Most Americans understand we just can't fund the medical care for everyone who wants to come here. Hell, we can't even cover our own Americans who need medical care!

We are in Montgomery County and illegal immigration affects our lives on a daily basis in a negative way. It is insanity that people want this to continue for their own monetary benefit.

Who can afford unlimited support of endless foreigners pouring in?

People who live behind walls and send their kids to private school

LOL

DP who lives in Montgomery County

I say this to DH all the time. It’s the same hypocritical people who have the ‘No Human is Illegal’ signs who forego public school because it’s ‘not challenging enough’ for their kid. When in reality, they simply want their kid to go to school with more white people and no ESOL kids.

They'll claim their privates are diverse . . . b/c of diplomats' kids and wealthy foreigners from African nations, South America and Europe.

In 2013, the Senate passed a bi-parisan immigration reform bill.

The GOP controlled House refused to take up the bill, so it died. In fact, Paul Ryan refused to even hold one hearing or allow one debate on the bill.

In response, President Obama asked the House to develop and pass a bill. They refused, so no action.

But they still demanded that Obama do something about illegal immigration.

In response, Obama initiated Executive Orders to deal with the issue around the edges.

In response, the GOP called Obama a tyrant for taking sole action - exactly what the GOP had asked for.

This is GOP logic in a nutshell.

The crisis at the border is a direct result of Trump's hatred of brown people (which is simply pandering to his base's hatred of brown people).

The crisis could be resolved with a single EO directing DHS and HHS to release every man, woman and child currently held in a cage.

how about everyone that wants to help take a family in? I think this is a great idea.

As long as they’re given your address and that of your children’s school.

Release them to where? The interior of the country with zero supervision or incentive to return for proper processing? So you are advocating for a policy of “if you make it to the border, you’re in”? And if so, how does this policy differ from just opening the southern border?

- A (brown) Democrat who is genuinely trying to understand Democrats’ immigration policy.

I keep hearing this crap, but you know what?
The only pictures of people in cages I have seen is from the Obama administration. In fact, the Dems on the Oversight Committee tweeted this today - and it was promptly deleted. You know why? Because the image used on the background of the tweet was from Obama's DHS. Yep. You would think if there were all these people in cages, the Oversight committee would be able to find one from the Trump admin.

So, you complain about the treatment of these people.
And, it has been announced that CBP will begin deporting those whose cases have been adjudicated and who have been ordered to leave. The Dems are going ape$hit.
WTH? These people came, their cases were heard, and they were ordered out. So, why are Democrats objecting now?

This is exactly why so many of us say you people believe in open borders. Because EVERY ACTION you take sends that message.
