FCPS Teacher Assignment and Class Schedules

Anyone know when this will come out. Our Principal got all the dates crossed and basically couldn't give the parents any feedback on when we can anticipate getting class schedules and teacher assignments? Is it planned for the week of the 24th or the 31st? [Talking about ES.]

All we got was a start and end time for the virtual day. Our principal stated they will be giving out specific schedules when teachers come back. In other words, absolutely zero effort will be put into making DL better until two weeks before school starts. That’s reassuring.

Our ES principal said the teacher assignments would be the week of the 24th.

Ours said the end of August. Makes sense, we don't usually find out until a day or two before school starts.

Did anyone hear whether the DL kids will be separated from the hybrid kids in class assignments? Is there any chance that the DL kids will still be placed in larger classrooms with teachers from other schools?

Principal’s Q & A pre-7/21 we were following the bell schedule. (9:05am)
PTA Q & A post-7/21 said it would be 8:45am.

At this point I get they have no clue what the DL day will look like, but if you can’t figure out a time that school virtually starts? 🤦🏻‍♀️

It’s still a bit early. I teach an ES grade and even during a normal year I don’t get a class list until one of the first workdays. I know teachers who don’t have grade level assignments yet.

They will not be separated per Rachna Sizemore's town hall the other night.

It’s a factor at our school but it won’t be a rule. They don’t have enough teachers to make that happen for several classes, particularly the AAP classes.

Our principle told us that classes were being split based on hybrid v DL selection. He said they’re doing it this way so it’ll be easier to transition to hybrid, if conditions allow. I think it’s funny that they’re still keeping up appearances that we might go in person at any point this year.
