Did anyone hear whether the DL kids will be separated from the hybrid kids in class assignments? Is there any chance that the DL kids will still be placed in larger classrooms with teachers from other schools?

They will not be separated per Rachna Sizemore's town hall the other night.

Our principle told us that classes were being split based on hybrid v DL selection. He said they’re doing it this way so it’ll be easier to transition to hybrid, if conditions allow. I think it’s funny that they’re still keeping up appearances that we might go in person at any point this year.

For the love of God, I hope you are not a teacher.

PRINCIPLE ??????????????????????????????

Remember, the princiPAL is your PAL......OMG!

That time of the month?

I'm sorry, but I've noticed a trend in teachers who cannot spell and have incredibly poor grammar. It's disappointing to say the least.

That's funny. I've noticed a trend in entitled parents who mistakenly think that A. They are the teachers' employers' and B. That the entitled parents could do SUCH A BETTER JOB than the teacherss, who can't spell.

And yes, said entitled parents, the extra S on "teachers" is a tablet typo.

I'm a teacher and already received my class list. So you're probably definitely know by the 24th. They'll be asking teachers to reach out to families a lot before school starts.

I wish I had my list!! - another teacher

Why do teachers and parents care so much right now? There is time. I am a high school teacher, not in FCPS, and have my class lists. I don’t know the students and will not do anything with these since schedules will change a lot before school starts. Students and parents can’t see them yet because schedules are still changing so much. I have no idea who initially picked hybrid and who picked virtual so I don’t know if classes are mixed. As a parent, I will likely find out my child’s elementary FCPS teacher two days before school starts. This is a good policy. When classes are released the parent gossip starts and young kids become very upset about who is not in their class. None of that is helpful.

ES parent here. We care because it helps us to determine who to reach out to in order to have playdates/childcare shares.

Omg. Playdates and childcare shares. And then y’all will blame teachers again when it isn’t possible to go back in Q2.

CDC has said it's ok to expand your bubble with like minded families, so fork you.

Whatever. Teachers aren't locking down either. There is a teacher at our swimming pool nearly everyday--no mask, no social distance, chit chatting in big groups--that advocated for distance learning. It's all a giant ball of hypocrisy.

Well I’m a teacher who picked hybrid who hasn’t taken her kids to the pool all summer, still won’t eat in restaurants, won’t socialize at others’ houses or have them at mine. No hair salon. No gym. Because I would like to get back in the building to teach at some point so I’m taking it seriously.

Via email. I am a parent. The principal told us the info is loaded into ParentVue but won't be visible to parents until Sept. 4, which is why they emailed it to us.

we got an email today, where there should be teachers name was blank for both my kids.

That happened to us too for one kid but not the other. Maybe a teacher vacancy that hasn't been finalized yet?

As a high school teacher, I can see my rosters in SIS this morning. Admin was clear we are not to contact anyone or set up google classroom invitations yet though, because 10,000 schedule changes are still possible.

10:10 here. We were also told teachers will be in contact this week to arrange a 5 minute "virtual home visit". This is for ES.
