At the Elementary level, students will definitely be grouped by DL/hybrid. This is to be sure that if we are able to resume in school, the groups will not be broken up. At my ES, all students are being taught by teachers from our school.

This is not true. I've spoken to our school's principal, plus my neighbor who is the AP at another elementary. You are wrong.

What are they wrong about? Do your admin contacts think we will be DL all year? Until December? Or do they really think we’ll try to go back in November?

Just curious.

Then someone should probably inform our principal that this isn’t true. On the return to school presentation nearly 2 weeks ago he said they were organizing classes based on original selection.

I think it all comes down to numbers and how big your school is. If you have teams of 3 teachers with specialized programs in the school, then it is impossible to group kids that way. If you are at a school with 5-7 teachers per team, it is doable. My school can not separate kids due to Local Level 4 and being smaller.

Some elementary schools in 20171 has teacher assignment showing in Sis.

On the app or on the website? Which section?

LOL

I know. This obvious non-teacher posts this on every thread. No teacher uses the term "teacher training day." It's such a bizarre comment.

DP. I just checked SIS and didn't see any teacher or classroom assignments but they added more testing information.

They won’t all be in yet. My ES class list doesn’t show in SIS or Blackboard.

I think it depends on school and how quickly it was entered into system. My ES class list was up Friday on SIS.

We are in 20171 and got assignments yesterday. The Principal said that kids teachers might change if the hybrid happens. It looks like the classes were divided alphabetically based on conversations with friends.

I'm a teacher and already received my class list. So you're probably definitely know by the 24th. They'll be asking teachers to reach out to families a lot before school starts.

I wish I had my list!! - another teacher

Why do teachers and parents care so much right now? There is time. I am a high school teacher, not in FCPS, and have my class lists. I don’t know the students and will not do anything with these since schedules will change a lot before school starts. Students and parents can’t see them yet because schedules are still changing so much. I have no idea who initially picked hybrid and who picked virtual so I don’t know if classes are mixed. As a parent, I will likely find out my child’s elementary FCPS teacher two days before school starts. This is a good policy. When classes are released the parent gossip starts and young kids become very upset about who is not in their class. None of that is helpful.

ES parent here. We care because it helps us to determine who to reach out to in order to have playdates/childcare shares.

You misunderstood. They are not differentiating between families that chose hybrid or DL, instead they are forming classes the way they would pre-Covid.

Maybe it's an AAP thing. The principals I talked to - one is at an AAP Center, the other has an LLIV program.

They will not be separated per Rachna Sizemore's town hall the other night.

Our principle told us that classes were being split based on hybrid v DL selection. He said they’re doing it this way so it’ll be easier to transition to hybrid, if conditions allow. I think it’s funny that they’re still keeping up appearances that we might go in person at any point this year.

For the love of God, I hope you are not a teacher.

PRINCIPLE ??????????????????????????????

Remember, the princiPAL is your PAL......OMG!

That time of the month?

I'm sorry, but I've noticed a trend in teachers who cannot spell and have incredibly poor grammar. It's disappointing to say the least.

That's funny. I've noticed a trend in entitled parents who mistakenly think that A. They are the teachers' employers' and B. That the entitled parents could do SUCH A BETTER JOB than the teacherss, who can't spell.
