Well school was supposed to start in two weeks....wouldn’t they normally have the kids in classes by now? |
That time of the month? |
ours said this too(and also messed up dates) probably same school. If so, during that same virtual meeting, he went back and said they were “trying” and that the county may ask everyone to re vote if it came to that and then question was asked yet again and the AP totally back peddled. I got the impression it was said to shut parents up. No one is going to get a teacher from a different school. And let’s all be real, chances anyone gets back in person this year are slim. The schools that have started(and some already shut down) have COVID cases and it’s a nightmare to handle. |
In 27 years I don’t think I have ever had a class list two weeks prior to the start of school. I usually get it when staff returns. |
Normally, teachers would be assigned grade levels by now and students would be in tentative classes, though they aren’t released to teachers 7ntil the workdays because minor changes are made as students enroll/disenroll. But all this work was delayed by the hemming and hawing about how we would go back, and then the switch to DL. If you start a process later than usual, you finish it later than usual. |
NY's school opening will not go well, no opening will, so it will guarantee DL for the whole year for FCPS.
|
We would also normally be actually showing up for 5 day a week school. Why are you holding onto “normal” in a year where that is not going to happen? |
| We found out 8/16 last year. I remember we were eating lunch on beach when I got the text. |
They can’t find any substitute teachers. Many said they would not return and no one new is applying. This will prevent us from going back. There won’t be anyone to cover classes if teachers are out. They can’t tell staff to stay home if they are sick and not have anyone to take over the class. We will be home all year. |
| So sounds like we will find out the week of the 24th? If any teacher on here could confirm, that would be great. |
At the Elementary level, students will definitely be grouped by DL/hybrid. This is to be sure that if we are able to resume in school, the groups will not be broken up. At my ES, all students are being taught by teachers from our school. |
I don’t know of any teachers who have this info. A principal might be able to answer. |
This is not true. They will try, but there will be classes with both, such as Local Level 4. |
I assume an online meeting? |
Yeah we have no way of knowing when or how this info will be ready and pushed out to us let alone parents. I wish we were as all powerful and in control as DCUM parents believe we are... |
