Are you thinking of The Crown?

Why divorce at 65?

-To be left alone
-To be with someone else
-Gay

What other scenarios?

I think it’s unrealistic to expect a tech geek like Bill Gates to change their kids’ diapers when they’re better off making money...and I’m a woman. A lot of stuff can be outsourced and Melinda seems to want some unicorn husband. He doesn’t exist.

Well that’s my dream too. Maybe I’ll be the new Mrs.

We actually have a cottage and I do this! He is my dream date!

Maybe he grew out of that, maybe he wants to make the world a better place, but it wouldn’t surprise me at all if he is difficult to live with.

There's this saying among autistic people that in terms of maturity you are 2/3 of your chronological age, which would make old bill fortyish. Ripe for a midlife crisis.

She doesn’t need a unicorn or a husband. I’m sure she’d love to be with someone who shares her interests.

Also DCUM: What's the point in divorce after that long??

That's because some posters don't want anyone to divorce. They say stay for the kids when young, and you are in the bottom of the U curve of happiness when older, so stick it out.

Good for Bill and Melinda for being honest with themselves. They don't want to spend the rest of their lives together.

Covid made them reaiize that life is too short to be unhappy.

You don't say! It's going to be interesting.

And the race begins.

I kinda feel bad for Bill that even a billionaire like him couldn’t keep his wife around. Sad.

He had handlers at Microsoft to make sure he showed to things on time, bathed regularly, etc. He lives entirely in his head and has no sense of other people -he’s the highest functioning kind of person on the spectrum. She chose to marry that - have no idea if it was love, reasoned decisions, for money, whatever. I would have figured she would have carved out her life by now.

I will give them credit for no press leaks, drama, etc.

Well, Steve Jobs was an a-hole of the highest caliber judging by his daughter's memoir. I don't see why Gates wouldn't be.

And I'm sure all kinds of scenarios were discussed and put in place legally so she'll do just fine.

Where did you read that Gates needed people to remind him to bathe??

Waiting it out to see if she gets 4 more years as First Lady.

And she'd renegotiate that renegotiated prenup.
