So apparently she's made statements over the years about how it's hard being married to him, he has had no sense of work life balance ever, she had to "train" him in work life balance and being involved with the family etc.

I wonder if it just got to a point where she's 56 and wants to live a little and he at 65 STILL wants to work at whatever project he's throwing himself into 24-7. Like it sounds like for most of the marriage for her it was about raising the kids but now that the kids are grown (youngest is 18), maybe she wants to spend time with her husband and he's still wanting to work at the foundation.

Yes but doesn't billions of dollars give you the freedom to do whatever you want?! I guess maybe she wanted to remarry.

I doubt it will be as bad as Bezos. Bezos was complicated because they both controlled Amazon. McKenzie also got in on the ground floor, so to speak.

Melinda married Bill when he was like 40 and after he was well past prenup level.

Yeah she can do what she wants -- travel etc. but I wonder if it's about -- I want to do these things for the next few decades with my partner but my partner would rather be working than "wasting time" hanging out.
