DC UA tryout$ - aka CSE money grab

One, these teams should be playing to win. Get your best players on the field for as long as you can. If the team only has 12 solid players sub smartly. Players should not be guaranteed playing time just because they made the team. Especially in light of the comments made on this forum about the varying talent level. Second, this team needs to find a way to attract all of the best players to tryout. This is not happening. And make sure the selection process is fair. Could be a great event, but right now is not taken seruously. Hopefully someone will make the necessary adjustments.

The Richmond people made it a thousand times worse putting girls from their area on who don’t have anywhere near the skills or talent to play.

Don't disagree. These coaches may have been a bit short-sighted by placing girls on the team from their programs/area thinking this would elevate their lacrosse clubs. True, if the team played well. Unfortunately, neither team, but especially the Command team, did not perform well and this may have a negative impact on several of these lacrosse clubs.

At least today's game was closer for Command. And that's the best we can say. Although in 5 games they gave up an avg of 11 goals a game and scored less than 6 on average. Embarassing.

Maybe it is a good thing college coaches weren't there to watch in person as they can opt to FF or turn off the video.

Playing Baltimore all stars all day would have been a challenge for absolutely anyone, highlight or command. The regional format was the short end of the stick for DC and for South. Can’t be fairly compared to years past. Then again, these girls got to play the absolute best.

It is over... isn't it? UA is divesting from lacrosse equipment, is welching on $280M sponsorship contract with UCLA, stock is down 40% while being investigated by the SEC for misrepresenting sales. Maybe Corrigan will find another sponsor although the Crabs have competing Nationals event (boys I think) for the fall.

Also have a daughter on the DC team, and am conflicted on this year's edition of the team. It was a combination of factors, with some of the best definitely on the team, but also some definitely not on the team due to COVID, timing of the event, etc. Also, CLC's coach wasn't running the show, it was the Uproar coach and he didn't take over until it was too late, e.g. pulling the goalie, etc., as it was enough to get us tied with 30 seconds to go. BUt the biggest was the equal playing time thing. Totally get it for pool play but there needed to be some tough love in today's match. The 22s on the team lost the match without question. Nice girls, but they have maybe one season of high school varsity lacrosse as freshmen. Definitely not enough to face D1 commits that are rising seniors. Understand the camaraderie but not at the expense of advancing.

Nice try but South is one of the worst teams every year and the DC teams LOST TO THE SOUTH TEAM too. The DC teams were both a disaster because of the corrupt process setting the rosters. Most of Command and half of Highlight were not top players. They couldn’t even beat the South teams in the seeding round. You can’t excuse the pathetic play by claiming it was due to having to play Baltimore. The teams were far from the best DC has to offer.

It may not be kind but the poster is correct. Only one of the ‘22s ( maybe 2) is a top player. The rest got their roster spots through old fashion cronyism and horse trading. Karma is more likely looking for the evaluators and coaches who ran the DC tryouts.

And per the MD players this year's Baltimore team was not one of the strongest compared to past years. So was the Baltimore team much better than expected or the DC team much weaker than expected.

The DC Highlight team should be able to beat all the top high schools teams in our area and the top club team. The DC UA team couldn’t even come close. It was missing far too many of the best players from our area- some who skipped the tryout and some who were cut. Just sad.

Way to go command team. I knew when that Buffon selected the rosters that you would be bad. Glad you didn’t disappoint.
