DC UA tryout$ - aka CSE money grab

Proof will be in the results today to see how well both of these coaches picked their teams and if picking a lot of their own players was worth it.

Hopefully they will represent DC well, but looking at the roster it may be a long day for the DC Command team. It's hard to compete when you cannot get all of the better players to tryout.

I think a quick look at tourney machine tells you all you need to know about the DC selection process.

0-4 pretty much sums it up.

Tells you what it means when you have politics picking a team. Kids know and the lack of adults to understand that is unbelievable. Shame on them!

DC Command was 0-4 and not even competitive and close on the scoreboard - in any game. Embarrassing for whoever picked this team. I don’t blame the girls, the coaches played politics and got it handed to them today.

Girl's Command was 0-4? Thats so embarrassing. The politics have got to be removed.

What about girl's Highlight? How did they do? About half that roster was really good, maybe not the very best, but very good.

Out of 4?

Pool play today was only for seeding purposes. The games tomorrow count, hopefully the coaches have been saving the best play for when it counts. We will know tomorrow.

Holy crap. I just looked the results. Both girls Highlight and Command were a complete embarrassment to DC lacrosse. Lost to the South teams (highlight once and command twice). South is usually one of the worst teams in the games. JFC someone with integrity and authority within the DC girls lacrosse community (not from Richmond for gods sake) needs to step up and take over. This should never happen again.

Maybe half the Highlight roster is credible (10-12 at most) and even less on the Command roster. It’s way past time to get the corruption out of DC girls lacrosse. No current high school or club coaches should be allowed to evaluate or have any input. Use retired coaches or local college coaches or old college players. Anything is better than the current cesspit.

Both finished at bottom of pool so both play Baltimore tomorrow. They are both going to lose. No doubt about it. What a joke.

The Highlight team had some close games today. The team definitely has the top end talent to compete, and the goalie from Stone Ridge is exceptional. The issue isn't the top 14 girls, it's the bottom of the roster. Baltimore doesn't have the same kind of disparity in talent from the top half to bottom half. If the coach decides to shorten the bench and play the goalie who is playing the best they could still win.

Oh man...have a daughter on the Highlite team. It wasn't pretty at all. We were a bit more competitive than the Command team, but still not good.

Based on having watched the HS lacrosse scene in DC for the past 4 years or so (8th grade on up), we all know what it going on. Clearly all the top girls aren't all taken; maybe only half, which just isn't good enough to compete w the Baltimore team. Heck, even with all the top girls, DC would still be the underdog against Baltimore, but at least they wouldn't get killed by the South.

Corrigan needs to get his arms around this thing quickly, or it is over. What a shame.

It is the adults that should be ashamed of themselves for years being a club director and selecting players you specifically want and then rolling out of the tryout once you got your players on the team. Shameful on so many levels, can’t believe they are even help run a club. Can you trust the process? No you can’t trust the process at all. There are very prominent people in lacrosse community talking about just how bad things have gotten especially at the hands of a few people involved with selections. I don’t have a daughter but can say even on the boys side we have heard. That is why all the Richmond people came up to help select. Bad process all the way around.
