Both DC UA teams won their region. The Command (younger) Division won the championship and finished with a 4 - 1 record. The Highlight (older) Division also won and went 5 - 0. How would you compare the selection process for boys vs girls? Did anyone have a son and daughter at each tryout. I'd be interested on the process for each gender.

The formula for the Command Girls is pretty simple, not all of the better players came to tryouts. This is the biggest issue. Compound this with 8 players from VAM and YJS were selected by coaches who clearly had an agenda. These clubs may claim their players were deserving given VAM had beaten Capital in a box league game and YJS played Capital to a draw a few weeks ago. However, YJS was beaten badly by the top teams they played in their last two recent tournaments. Generally, these two clubs are not the strongest in this age group. The results of UA seem to support this.

Boys side has it figured out, FWIW. Both Command and Highlite won their brackets today over Baltimore. Get the best players at the tryout, no matter what club they play on or HS they go to, and you can win. Often, that means the top 2 or 3 clubs in area and/or top 2 or 3 HS's have the majority of the players. Of course, that is why they are the top club or HS...they have the best players...

Figure it out, women's DC lax leadership. Get the best players, pretty simple.

The best players often don’t try out because they know it’s rigged. If you don’t have a coach or coaches who “support(s)” you working in the evaluator line-up, you have no chance of making the team.

The Baltimore team had 7 girls that have been on the team for 3 straight years and some other very strong 21s. There was a high number of 22s selected for the Baltimore team but to say it wasn't a strong team just isn't true. Look at the schools the 21s are committed to. 3 to Maryland, Northwestern, Hopkins, Florida, UNC, USC and others.

The players were referring to the Command team.
