Disappointed in Kate Middleton

She is a pretty serious amateur photographer, she's quite athletic, and she has chosen mental health as an area to focus on. She has also done a lot for British fashion.

She seems to genuinely be an extrovert, and she smiles a lot. And, I don't know how many nannies they have, but it seems clear that she and William spend a fair amount of time with their kids. She is doing well at everything her role requires.

If you don't think that there should be such a role; fine. But why take it so personally?

What's not to like?

Have you seen her photographs? Since when does being "quite athletic" merit billions of tax dollars and accolades? As for British fashion, it was just reported that Alice Temeperley -- one of Kate's signature designers -- is on the verge of bankruptcy.

But who cares what we think. You should read the comments to this article http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3493599/It-s-job-Prince-William-brushes-criticism-s-work-shy-reveals-tried-rid-palaces-ivory.html#comments if you want to know what their "subjects" think about them.

i don't care what kate middleton does, but i'd like the british royal family to return all the jewels they took from the former colonies and stop wearing them as jewelry.

Kate Middleton, however, is a sore disappointment as far as public figures go. First, she graduates from a great university and an excellent secondary education and spends her time....partying with the princes and hopping in and out of cards drunk and giggly. Her "job" is like, participating in charity rowing competitions sometimes. I'm not even expecting her to DO much work, especially since she was wealthy and did not need a source of income. I just wish she used her status and privileged and royal connections to stand up for something and contribute in a real way.

People made excuses for her saying she was in a difficult place dating William and needing to be low key until her marriage. Well, she got married and has done nothing of significance so far with her new found power and status. She makes a few appearances and spends the rest of the time doing nothing. SO LAZY.

She's a spoiled rich kid. She has never worked a day in her life. Her sole contribution to the world is sleeping with some guy and pumping out a few kids.

You just described my grandmother, it's called Old Money, get used to it.

The similarities between Old Money and welfare queens are remarkable.

Her kids are really, really young. A lot of women are not setting the world on fire, career-wise, with two kids under 3. I definitely mommy-tracked when I had a kid, and I'm no princess.

I imagine she'll ramp things up a bit when the kids get older.

She's pretty and classy, seems nice enough, and I think she jus tfell in love with a guy and decided he was worth the sacrifices she'd have to make.

Seriously. She has 2 little ones. In the US that's called a SAHM. but really she's a WAHM with 2 kids under 3 because, trust me, her calendar is BOOKED. your idea that she has all this time to herself is seriously mistaken. Being princess Kate is a J-O-B.

OT, but I Disagree that having two little ones in the US equals SAHM. I've always worked even when my kids were infants and that goes for most of the people I know. I'm in my thirties.

I'm just asking for specifics. They have some big honking diamonds that they've said they're not going to return. It does look as though many of the ones mentioned in the article were actually purchased. However, even if they did, how would you disperse funds to say the over one billion people who live in India for example.

This is not true at all and it's why the U.K. press is all over her and William for being workshy. They don't have to do their own housekeeping, they can afford childcare - they don't have to pay any of their own bills. It's not like William is cleaning out the gutters, and Kate is clipping coupons for the grocery run. She has plenty of time to work more. I'm kind of a Diana-phile and I remember when her boys were very young, Diana was third behind Princess Ann and the Queen in official engagements. Charles was actually criticized for not keeping up with her.
