Disappointed in Kate Middleton

Kate Middleton, however, is a sore disappointment as far as public figures go. First, she graduates from a great university and an excellent secondary education and spends her time....partying with the princes and hopping in and out of cards drunk and giggly. Her "job" is like, participating in charity rowing competitions sometimes. I'm not even expecting her to DO much work, especially since she was wealthy and did not need a source of income. I just wish she used her status and privileged and royal connections to stand up for something and contribute in a real way.

People made excuses for her saying she was in a difficult place dating William and needing to be low key until her marriage. Well, she got married and has done nothing of significance so far with her new found power and status. She makes a few appearances and spends the rest of the time doing nothing. SO LAZY.

Why can't she chose to be a stay at home mom and simply raise her children rather than paying someone else to do it?

LOL. Troll fail, OP. Nice try to frame the WOH SAH mommy war in a different light. But you just suck.

Also her grandmother-in-law, aka The Queen, has been rumored to have issued rules about what Kate can wear. Stockings, weighted hems on her skirts, no skirts hitting above the knee, and so on. It's probably no coincidence that her evening wear is not daring in the slightest. No amount of money would make me want to live under such scrutiny but yet also with so many restrictions.

You are on to something...

If she was doing something more substantial, this thread would be titled the same, but the content would be: who is raising her children while she runs around curing world hunger? I bet she has three nannies, what a horrible mother, etc etc etc.

Kate Middleton AND prince William are both enormously boring. A perfect match.

Yep, insanely jealous. Also, not very bright.

The only thing that makes him remotely interesting is his long, devoted relationship to Kate and wanting to have a "normal" family-centered life. This is a huge departure for the British royals.

+1

I laughed out loud

So did I! I imagine the OP is some low/mid-level employee, stuck in her cubicle, gnashing her teeth over her lot in life. It must be so vexing to see someone young, beautiful, and healthy, who has everything, like Kate Middleton.

You guys she HAS a nanny!

She doesn't have to cook, clean, but like PP, I would never in a million years want to be royalty.

She is doing fine and she will come into her own just like Diana did. In fact, I think she's starting off far more poised than Diana did. Just wait.

It definitely helps that Kate is more than 10 years older than Diana was at this point.

And is educated.

Wasn't Diana a school teacher?

No, she taught preschool briefly and worked as a nanny, but she had no degree,

Just wait till the old bag croaks! It'll be halter tops and jean shorts every day.

That's just it. QEII will never die! She will just slowly swap her body parts with animatronic ones. People won't know the difference.

Of course she has a nanny. At least they could dress the nanny better. That uniform looks horrible and makes no sense.

Strange choice go words, OP. She is a complete stranger and her actions or inactions have no bearing whatsoever on my life (or yours, I presume), so it is not for me (or you) to be "disappointed" in her life choices. As a casual observer, I would say that I thought it was pretty lame that she put her life on hold for the better part of a decade waiting for a proposal. Apparently she was "working" for the family business. Now, I did not have a prince for a college boyfriend (LOL -- he was far from that) but my parents would not have supported me financially for several years while waiting for a ring because they would not think this was a healthy choice for a young woman with a university degree. I can't imagine that DH and I would do that for our daughter, either. I would hope that she would be working or going to graduate school, not putting her life on hold for a man. But hey, it all worked out quite well for Kate. They seem like a happy little family and I certainly do not have any problem with any mom scaling back or even stopping work to be home with young children.

That uniform wasn't picked by Kate or the royal family. It's the Norland nanny uniform: http://www.norland.co.uk/college/about/norland_college_history
