Hi APE! I’ll stop when you get the h*ll out of our schools. Remind me who funds you again?

I am going to start reporting these posts. Don’t you have FB to do this. Please believe many people discuss these issues who pay zero attention to APE. I know who they are only became of the people on here obsessed with them. If you dislike them so much, stop giving them so much free PR.

+1 it’s really free advertising for APE (who I agree with on some things and not others FWIW)

I agree and they’re never going back to the early morning calls it seems.

I think they were probably getting too many call outs because Fairfax closed.

I think this one was handled correctly given how and when the snow came. If the snow hadn't started (or started sticking) until later, I think they should have stuck with the 2hr delay and cancelled in the morning if things looked bad. But it was pretty clear last night that morning transportation would be a mess, even with a 2hr delay, so announcing the closure so people could plan was the right thing to do.

Now for tomorrow... if it's anything more than a 2hr delay, that seems ridiculous (but entirely possible given that this is APS).

It seems no one is coming to plow anything, which is probably reasonable. It took less than a half hour to clear our sidewalks and driveway. It was easy and should be easily doable to handle school entrances by hand today. My street in N Arlington which got more snow than S Arlington is already driven down to pavement in some sections and we still have a warm afternoon coming.

I'd still get ready for minimum 2 hour delay and even possible closure. Refreeze, my street is a sheet of ice, sidewalks, the buses might not start, blah, blah. Pick one.

Tomorrow should absolutely be an on time opening, but I won't be surprised with a 2 hour delay.

Just call it already. Its a mess out there.

Is it?

The posted totals are an inch at National and an inch in falls church.

An inch on roads with ZERO salt because it rained for hours before

Once daylight comes and the roads get traffic it will be gone quickly.

If they close school, I suspect by mid-day tomorrow that will look like a dumb call. Probably won't stop them however. We've all gotten very used to knowing the night before. I'm pretty surprised they are waiting. It's almost as if they want children to go to school.

The only one who looks dumb is you. It was still snowing this morning when my kid would have gone to school. You need to give plows time to plow and people time to shovel out.

A delay tomorrow would be absurd. It's already pretty clear out there and it's not even noon. Of course, if Fairfax calls a delay, Arlington will too.

You're talking about those flurries floating in the air not accumulating at all this morning?

There is literally not enough snow to plow on most roads right now. I could walk out there in sneakers and not get my toes wet.

Keep watching out your window for that plow. YOU are the smart one.

You're reporting for what - asking which orgs funds a lobbying group whose purpose it to lobby my kid's school division to follow its agenda?

What's wrong without asking about that? What rules does it violate? Asking a question you don't want to answer just means I'm asking the right question.

You think buses should drive on unplowed roads? You think buses should drive in bus lanes and staff should park in lots that have not yet been cleared?

I mean, I don't, but clearly you have different expectations. Open up NOOOOWWWW! Where's your sign?

That's nice that your kids walk. Mine take the bus. And it has to go up a pretty steep hill. So please keep in mind this is not just about YOUR kid.

Accusing everyone of being with APE is bizarre and distracting. Just like this post is bizarre and distracting and off topic. Being off topic does get posts taken down. I don't even know what you are talking about and don't care.
