| What’re the predictions for Monday |
Please check back on Sunday
Literally, we don't know where we are with this storm. We thought it was going to be nothing a few days ago, but today models have been slowly trending towards a snowier solution. However we still have no clue whether we're getting 1 inch or 7! This is because there are two problems: 1. Marginal temps. It's going to start above freezing, and what falls throughout the day will melt. If the bulk of the storm waits until nighttime, it's going to accumulate. We might get an inch or two. 2. Westward expansion of the storm. It was going out to sea until it wasn't. We don't know exactly how far west (ie, over our heads) it's going to trend. If it sits on our heads for the entire Sunday and dumps massive amounts of snow: even during the day, it will bring its own cold airmass and snow will accumulate even if ground temps are above freezing. But that boom scenario is still very low probability as of Friday evening. So. Monitor carefully. |
95% chance of huge freakouts over another snow day. |
| Genuinely don’t think they’ll be able to make a call til Sunday night/Monday morning unfortunately. The storm is too unpredictable and even a small shift could be the difference between rain and 6 inches of snow. |
Too low. 100 percent chance. Lock yourselves in your house folks. There will be precipitation and nope, we can’t handle it. We’re still picking up all the kids who fell and broke a hip from last go around. |
ha! thanks for proving my point. still triggered from the last closure and already starting to complain even before we see a speck of snow. kind hope school closes just so i can watch you lose it again. i bought popcorn. |
| 100% not matter what happens LCPS will cancel school Monday. |
NP- My kid is still in a case from an accident following the last storm so.... |
|
cast, not case
|
This isn't complaining. This is making fun of you. Not PP. |
Actually you're making fun of kids who got hurt in the last storm, which is in extremely poor taste. |
It's so disappointing to see people mocking kids who were hurt. Sorry to see this and I hope your kid heals well. |
| The fact that we close over 6 inches of snow is absurd. The ground is warm, even if snow does fall it’s not going to stick around. |
Current forecast is 1 to 4 inches for what that is worth. I think based on timing going to be a Monday closure. |
| Occasional snow days are a fun part of childhood in Washington. If you’re from here, you understand it’s also part of raising your kids here. I find that most of the parents that complain work from home, anyway. It’s convenient for them 95% of the time, but when it’s not… |
