I wouldn’t recommend going for a drive right now. That said, the snow will stop well before 5am, so I hope they wait until morning to decide instead of following Fairfax.

Once daylight comes and the roads get traffic it will be gone quickly.

If they close school, I suspect by mid-day tomorrow that will look like a dumb call. Probably won't stop them however. We've all gotten very used to knowing the night before. I'm pretty surprised they are waiting. It's almost as if they want children to go to school.

I wish they would just call it. Obviously little to no cleanup nor natural melting is going to happen before the morning (or in the additional 2 hours), and we know that clean sidewalks is a deciding factor for them.

It is? The sidewalks were certainly not clear last time when they re-opened school. Far from it.

They weren't clear, no, but when closed on Monday the week after the storm, they were pleading with people to clear sidewalks as some sort of a condition to open on Tuesday. Nothing really changed in my neighborhood, but I think they figured they couldn't reasonably stay closed any longer.

They should at least allow after school and evening activities. Do they ever do that?

I don’t think so. Maybe if the activity is in a community center attached to a school like Gunston, Thomas Jefferson, etc. Not sure which way those will go.

As usual, County will open when schools are closed. Delayed opening for them.
