Harry and Meghan’s Christmas card

Someone on Reddit pointed out that in every picture of the boy he’s wearing a sweater with elbow patches and the girl a sleeveless dress with Mary Janes. A little peculiar.

If you don't want to show faces, then you can do the family walking away with the camera behind them that many do. But to hide their faces by hanging their hair over their face or having them faceplant into your belly is just weird!

Very odd she wanted a transparent dress. Strange choice for someone who has a wardrobe with probably more than a million dollars in clothes!

Never! Meggies does NOT want you to see her butt.

If this trend continues, next year’s card will be known as The Landing Strip Card.

I think it looks really awaward because they wanted poses that hid the kids faces and they are trying to make a posed picture look like a candid shot. The poses are weird for a posed picture. Its like an art tableau but unnatural poses to freeze in!

The Palace one is just a normal posed picture. The poses look like a posed picture and no one is trying to look like its a candid shot.

I think the not perfectly manicured look is supposed to add to the 'candid' shot of a just a family ambling through the woods who stopped on this little bridge and a camera captured this family moment. But it doesn't look quite right in what it really is a posed professional picture. It looks like Archie is balancing himself against the railing to be able to hold the pose.

I don't really see Harry's underwear but it is a very strange choice as to why Megan wanted to wear a see through dress and show her underwear and the other strange choice is photoshopping the leaves on Harrys head!

Harry's pants are falling down because he doesn't have a belt on and the boy is pulling on them. The shirts partially untucked and there's a bit of gray peeping out. I presume that's the underwear. Why not just wear a belt? Does he often skip the belt?

The see-thru dress pretty much screams, “Elon! Call me!”

I saw somewhere else a comment that they are in the perfect position to put a horse costume over them and it made me laugh.

It is odd to have a family picture where it is each parent posing with a child versus the family posing together.

Harry recently went on a ski trip with his friend and then they participated in a Snow Polo competition. He was introduced at the competition as Harry Wales. But Meghan was clear she is a Sussex so curious as to why they are using different names.

The shoes/socks on the girl are strange. Why not just sneakers or sandals?

We are to believe she's wearing brand new socks and shoes for a casual walk in the field, like any other day.

I'm usually team Kate but geez. This is a perfectly nice photo, if not particularly festive, and the criticism is so OTT. It's more attention than it/H&M warrant.

Yes, very awkward. And something about the pose with Meghan and her daughter makes me think she's leaning down to scold her. I know Meghan is smiling but it’s like when your kid keeps disobeying and you take them by both hands and tell them to look you in the eye and listen or else. The whole thing is awkward to me!

When I go in to touch my daughter's face, I don't bend at the waist, I kneel down to get close - I'm not sure I've ever bent at the waist like that. I think that's what is so odd about the post. I think a lot of parents would want their whole body to be close to their child, not just their face.

Agreed. I think that is part of what makes it look unnatural. Also Archie is 6 and a half. He should be close to 4 feet tall by now. I wonder how long he had to hang there! Maybe awhile and he slipped down. Usually kids jump up when they jump onto you. they don't grab low and then lift their legs off the ground like that.

My kid hangs on my DH like that all the time, so it doesn't look at all weird to me.

NP - Thank you, because I'm reading these posts thinking WTF. The kid is six, my then six-year-old hung on DH all the time at that age. He wanted to do the helicopter game, still at that age. Sometimes he just wanted to be close to daddy. I wonder about some of these posters and how their children must always be in control. How sad. And messy hair on a four-year-old. You people think four-year olds should be perfectly coifed. Yuck.

As someone with curly hair, I will posit that brushing Lilibet's hair could make it very frizzy. Or it could be that humidity makes her hair freak out a bit.

Or maybe she hates having it brushed. I did when I was her age, and I have a vivid memory of having my hair brushed and squirming around so much trying to get away that my mom whacked me with the brush. It's OK with me if Megan prefers unbrushed hair on a preschooler to that.

But regardless: You are criticizing the hair of a preschooler.

It's the parents job to make the kids presentable. It's not her fault her hair is a hot mess.

DP Her hair is not a hot mess. Just because you have straight, stringy hair does not mean that everyone else has such bland hair. Get over yourself.

That's what he used for military purposes.

It's ok to comment positively on Meghan without mentioning Kate. Really.

Mom likes the look.
