Harry and Meghan’s Christmas card

Oh god, you’re dirty-minded.

To me the biggest problem is that this doesn’t look like a winter holiday card in any way. I actually scrolled past this photo to find the card, because I didn’t recognize it as such.

Yes, very awkward. And something about the pose with Meghan and her daughter makes me think she's leaning down to scold her. I know Meghan is smiling but it’s like when your kid keeps disobeying and you take them by both hands and tell them to look you in the eye and listen or else. The whole thing is awkward to me!

When I go in to touch my daughter's face, I don't bend at the waist, I kneel down to get close - I'm not sure I've ever bent at the waist like that. I think that's what is so odd about the post. I think a lot of parents would want their whole body to be close to their child, not just their face.

Agreed. I think that is part of what makes it look unnatural. Also Archie is 6 and a half. He should be close to 4 feet tall by now. I wonder how long he had to hang there! Maybe awhile and he slipped down. Usually kids jump up when they jump onto you. they don't grab low and then lift their legs off the ground like that.

My kid hangs on my DH like that all the time, so it doesn't look at all weird to me.

NP - Thank you, because I'm reading these posts thinking WTF. The kid is six, my then six-year-old hung on DH all the time at that age. He wanted to do the helicopter game, still at that age. Sometimes he just wanted to be close to daddy. I wonder about some of these posters and how their children must always be in control. How sad. And messy hair on a four-year-old. You people think four-year olds should be perfectly coifed. Yuck.

For fun. Not as a posed family picture. It isn't a natural pose for a posed family Christmas picture. It isn't easy to hold and just isn't a well posed shot.

The girl’s hair definitely needs to be brushed and cut.

What up with the weird photoshopping his bald spot with tree leaves?

It is just such a bad Christmas card. So I looked up William’s. It looks classy while Harry’s looks so trashy.

Here is William’s:

That's lovely ^^. They don't feel the need to hide their kids' faces...

Yes, they just photoshop the mom into the photo 😂

(It’s already been confirmed this yet another AI card. Kate’s arm would be as tall as she is to be able to hug her kid at that angle.)

Someone on Reddit pointed out that in every picture of the boy he’s wearing a sweater with elbow patches and the girl a sleeveless dress with Mary Janes. A little peculiar.

He doesn't have on a sweater, but he does have elbow pads on his shirt. My mother had to put elbow pads on all my brother's shirts and sweaters when we were a kid. The boy is in dressed like dad, and the girl like mom. Mom is in sleeveless and dad is in long sleeves.

The biggest problem is the photoshopping. The orb over his head and the leaves onto his head. People crucified Kate when the sleeve of her kids sweater was photoshopped and this picture has a lot of poorly done photoshop / AI too.

Ahhh, so sweet. Like every daughter puts their head on daddy’s shoulder while he’s holding the youngest. As awkward as Harry’s.

No matter what Harry and Meghan do, the British folks on here will find fault with it.

The British folk and Britifiles who have their minds made up by the media that the royal family pay off to write stories. People are so stupid and demonstrate their lack of ability to think for themselves.

You probably shouldn’t use words you can’t spell. Also, it’s really Anglophile.

This is such a lame take. It’s already been confirmed that the Wales Christmas card was photoshopped so now their Stans are saying that Meghan and Harry’s card must also be photoshopped.

Yawn.

Get a new playbook already.

Some of you truly are ancient. These types of photos are and are meant to feel organic, spontaneous, and the OPPOSITE of formal and stuffy.

Clutch your pearls some more. I bet a lot of you are lame and out of touch enough to actually wear pearls.

But....they live in Southern California.

I take photos throughout the year and use the best one for my holiday card. Sometimes it's the kids on the beach in August. This year, among the photo cards I received are:

--a couple in normal clothes standing in their yard, autumn leaves visible in background
--a family in normal clothes standing in their yard, leafy bush behind them
--3 kids in jeans and navy sweatshirts sitting on the top of a hill with a lake in the background
--montage of family photos, one of the parents dressed up at some random event, one of kids in summer clothes with ocean view
--family in summer clothes with a woodsy background
--montage of family photos, all seeming to be from some summer vacation
--montage of family photos kind of similar to Harry and Meghan's actually, only it's the east coast so the trees in the background have started to turn.
--montage of family photos, one of couple hiking, one of son with new fiancé, one of other son in his surgical scrubs (he's an intern)

I could go on, but do I need to? Very, very common.

But Kate and William's does look wintery? There are daffodils in the background for Christ's sakes.

Nope. Not in any way.

The Wales one looks like AI. Kate was clearly added in after.

You're assuming it was "posed." They stood on this bridge, posed some shots but also the photographer is likely just snapping away. This might not have been one of the posed shots.

Have any of you people done a photo shoot with children before? Are you unfamiliar with how this works?

I don’t really care about photoshopping, so to me it’s not a big deal.

No, I disapprove of the daffodils as well. But at least they’re wearing some seasonally appropriate colors and the composition suggests a holiday card. The other one looks like one of the photos you see in a picture frame you buy at Target.
