$125 from the women who cuts my hair. She charges the top price in her shop. Other stylists charge less in the same shop. No, it isn't worth it. |
Holy crap. That used to be my $20 go to out of college when we were all broke. |
And why is that? It is far more complicated to cut my son's curly hair than my straight shoulder length cut. I've done both myself and mine is super easy. Why would it cost more? |
| I cut my own hair. |
The washing part Duh. |
| I now pay 80 for a crappy cut by a rude woman who ignores me the entire time and speaks Turkish to her coworkers the entire time. I had a great stylist for a long time who just disappeared during Covid. |
| For straight hair and a trim ask your spouse, a friend to do it. Not worth the price. |
After paying $65 plus tip for a no wash no dry basic trim with shoulder length straight hair, and then finding it wasnt even that great if a cut, I started watching YouTube videos. 6 months ago I started cutting my own hair. My husband or son double checks the back and gets any uneven hair. I actually don’t notice the difference. I asked my son who is majoring in engineering and has amazing spatial awareness over spring break and he said one side was very slightly longer but then added it usually has been off somewhere for years and most people have slightly uneven hair. He said my self haircut was in the acceptable range. |
This is the problem though - a lot of hairstylists are starting to charge extra for women with long hair and more complex cuts, but they're not charging less for the 10 minute cut (like mine and OP's). I stopped going when my hairstylist went from $45 to $120 in two years, now I go to Hair Cuttery, where they are very sweet and take their time while trying to convince me to buy their weird CBD shampoo. |
Why is this a "duh" moment? Why is harder to wash my hair than a man's hair? It takes maybe 30 seconds longer? I don't understand, please enlighten me, weirdo. |
You don't ask the price of the haircut? I mean, my salon lists it on their website and tells you when you book. What kind of weird salon are you going to where they're not telling you the price up front? And why aren't you asking for the price up front? Are you 30 and to scared to talk to people? |
| I pay $120 for my cut. It’s low maintenance but falls so much better/easier to fix when I get it cut every 8 weeks. It is a pricey cut but this area is expensive. |
They've gotten expensive. I go to Hair Cuttery now, which is about 50$ including tip. |
I'm sorry but you and OP are complete idiots. How could you not ask?? How stupid are you???? |
I do not tip my sole proprietor because she owns her business - her name is listed as the business owner if you look it up. She rents her own retail space, she owns her own equipment, she buys her own products, she sets her own prices and it is just her from shampoo to blow dry. And she charges a lot for it. So nope, I don't tip. If she wants more money, she can increase the price. I do give her a Christmas present every year though and sometimes I bring her a cup of coffee if I have a morning appointment. |
